And how much pollution is going to be put out by the powerplants that generate the electriticy that is needed to recharge the car’s batteries?

What about the range before re-charge and how long to recharge? I take a couple of trips from the east coast to Chicago a year, will the car have the endurance for 750 miles of driving? There a electric/gasoline hybird will be better, like the Saturn Hybird Vue.

A local news show had a story about a Prius (I think) rewired with a better battery and a wall charger. A full charge which would go 40 miles cost $0.75 and took 3 hours to charge. I don't know how much it would cost for the Prius's gas engine to go that distance, but my Accord would cost almost $6. To cost $0.75 for 40 miles you would need a gas engine that gets over 200 miles per gallon.

Wouldn't be an issue if we could get 80% of our electricity from nukes, like FRANCE of all places.
