What about the range before re-charge and how long to recharge? I take a couple of trips from the east coast to Chicago a year, will the car have the endurance for 750 miles of driving? There a electric/gasoline hybird will be better, like the Saturn Hybird Vue.

A local news show had a story about a Prius (I think) rewired with a better battery and a wall charger. A full charge which would go 40 miles cost $0.75 and took 3 hours to charge. I don't know how much it would cost for the Prius's gas engine to go that distance, but my Accord would cost almost $6. To cost $0.75 for 40 miles you would need a gas engine that gets over 200 miles per gallon.
