This is kind of off topic, however, I hope the GOP resolves it’s own issues with identity politics by the 2012.
They reason we are where we are with the crud of a candidate we have with McCain is because of the identity politics of the Huckster and Mitt.
Both of these guys need to do what is best for the country and not thier perceived political interests and forswear efforts for the Presidency in the future.
There is a significant percentage of Republicans that will never vote for a Mormon.
And there is a significatn percentage of Republicans that will never vote for the Huckster because of his Christian Socialist Big-Government message and because he so blatantly played the identity card in his campaign.
We need to look forward to 2012 and hopefully coalesce around a Reagan Conservative who did not relatively recently switch from Liberal to Conservative (Mitt).
A self centered lying female who believes she is owed the job.
A half black guy who thinks he should be given the job because he can walk & talk.
And an ex POW (ie: war hero) who uses his membership in the Republican Party as a platform from which to jab sharpened sticks into the eyes of fellow members.
They say "that which doesn't kill you ... makes you stronger".
I'm fearing for our mortality this time.
