Crisis and Revolution in the Republican Party
MWC NEWS ^ | 17 MAY 2008 | Jacob G. Hornberger

With their third straight loss of a House seat in a special election, Republicans are discovering that they’re in crisis.

Well, duh!

After all, here you have a political party that preaches the old libertarian mantra of “free enterprise, private property, and limited government” while embracing and supporting such socialist, interventionist, and imperial programs as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, income taxation, the drug war, paper money, the Federal Reserve, the war on immigrants, the war on poverty, torture, wars of aggression, military occupations, kidnapping and rendition, suspension of habeas corpus, and denial of due process of law, right to counsel, right to confront adverse witnesses, and right to be free from cruel and unusual punishments.

Tom Cole from Oklahoma, chairman of the National Republican Committee, said, “What we’ve got is a deficiency in message….”

Even THAT idea is taken from the dem playbook.

Oh brother, the LP “..kidnapping, rendition..” etc.

No wonder, if the LP cannot get on the ballot they have no one to blame but themselves.

It does seem that way. It also seems that they are equally unhinged.

Small successes.

Today at the Virginia 11th district convention, we held off an attempt by “moderate” retiree Tom Davis to replace good conservatives in our state central committee (who he is mad at because they picked a convention so he couldn’t win the nomination for Senator) with his own hand-picked slate of candidates.

It wasn’t easy. Two of our good conservative won on the 1st ballot. So Tom’s gang of three got together, and two of them dropped out throwing their support to the 3rd. Eventually, we had a good conservative drop out on our side to throw support behind the other conservative, and we prevailed.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t keep Tom Davis from winning a delegate slot to the National RNC convention.

We did make sure no Ron Paul people were picked.

The solution to this crisis of conservatism is so simple it’s ridiculous. Go back to the old school.

To conservative leaders:

First, know what the traditional American values are, all of them, starting with God, know them and really believe in them above all else (if the belief isn’t there to begin with, don’t even try).

Then, learn how to communicate these values and act on them with guts, intelligence and charisma, and smile as the leftists try to smear you. You will win landslides (but remember you have to really believe).

That’s all Reagan did, and he did it over and over! It’s that simple, really.

As Franklin warned us at the Federal Convention of 1787;

"... there are two great passions which have a powerful influence on the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice; the love of power, and the love of money.Separately each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but when united in view of the same object, they have in many minds the most violent effects. Place before the eyes of such men a post of honour that shall be at the same time a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it...

And of what kind are the men that will strive for this profitable pre-eminence,.... It will not be the wise and moderate; the lovers of peace and good order, the men fittest for the trust. It will be the bold and the violent, the men of strong passion and indefatigable activity in their selfish pursuits. these will thrust themselves into your Government and be your rulers...."

And so it is. Just look at the choices that we now face in the up coming election. Not just at the top but throughout those that are up for election. We the people have allowed this to happen by not paying attention to the affairs of our government and to act in out own best interests during past elections. And because of that we justly deserve the mess we are in. The reasons are many but the responsibility resides with us the people.

That's right, think like a Washington spin mister hypocrite - we need a better “message”.; Tell you what clown, you and the boys can work real hard on a new “message; mean while the real conservatives will just watch you stone stupid idiots get sent home next election so you can message yourself all you want while you are not on the public penny.

What planet are these clowns from anyway??
