The GOP (as a party) has already rejected 90% of what conservatism stands for, Now Arnold wants them to stomp out the remaining 10% in an attempt to impress the left into voting GOP.

Conservatives have been kicked in the nuts so many times by the GOP, one more time won’t make it hurt much more.

If anyone can root out the last 10% of conservatism left in the GOP, McCain can. His choice of running mate will be the ideal way to make us conservatives pay by “reaching across the aisle” for a VP pick.

LOL! What a crock of an article.

Apparently, the author has missed the hundreds of conservatives blasting the NRCC's Tom Cole:

Maria has his kajones in a locked box on the night stand, Ahhnold is merely a shell now, for whatever reason, the highest office he can hold is Senator, and even then, he cannot become President so no Pro Tempore or Majority leader for him or they could skip over him I “guess”.

I’d rather lose then put up with anymore of “dhimmilite” crap, we win be having better ideas and articulation, not by rolling over and peeing on our stomachs because we might lose.

Where-o-where is the political center of the nation?

There is no such thing as "the center."

It's a ruse manufactured by liberals to keep Republicans lurching left.

Conservatism wins every time. All Republicans have to do is just be conservatives.

Personally, I don't know ... but you might ask many of the good folks around here that intend to vote for anybody with an (R) following their name. They aren't hard to find.

Nope...we're not hard to find. We're all still "here". :-) The GOP has established a pattern of spinelessness, self serving, and pandering which exceeds their democratic counterparts, and we are NOT LONGER LOYAL TO THEM. They're a dead political party.

They just haven't realized it quite yet.

The honorable thing for him to do would be to change party affiliation over to Democrat.

Why? Ideologically he's already there! The GOP is merging with the socialist Democrats to the point where they are one party.

The gop is a mammoth that has floundered into a tar pit.

It’s thrashing about and making a lot of noise, but it’s efforts are too little too late, they only succeed in causing it to sink more quickly.

How about not shoveling a pile of wild spending, caveins to Democrats, and illegal alien amnesty into a box and calling it Republicanism?

The GOP has been doing this for years by appealing to socialists in order to expand the GOP voting base. The Republicans are not about to suddenly reverse that trend especially when they are ideologically one party with the socialists Democrats.

You are correct that there is no center, but only because there is no office elected by a national vote.

Instead, there is a composite center, based on the electoral vote.

I’m about to rebrand my voter registration from “Republican” to “unenrolled.”

I call for a re-branding of Arrrrrrnold. We should tie the SOB down and brand his a** with a liberal mark, to be decided on later. What a dumb a** he is and what a dumb a** the rest of the republican party is. Yes, we will re-brand it alright while we all migrate to another party.

The problem is not what Governor S or the pundits believe. Presently, the average consumer is paying 11% of his consumer dollar for gasoline; he is used to paying about 4%.

This is a disaster for many with a required scale back of expenses.

Most of the Democrat victories are achieved by running a conservative, branding him a Democrat and beating the ordinary Republican conservative.

Actually, it is worse than that. Conservative has now come to mean pro-life, pro gun and anti homosexual marriage. It is easy to find Democrats with liberal fiscal goals to fit into these categories.

In a peculiar sense, the conservatives have won--so much so the RATS now have to emulate some of their positions in certain areas of the country.

I was referring to folks who would vote for anybody just because they had an (R) following their name, and I know that you don’t fall into that category. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

The RINO coup de tat of the GOP that began with McCain continues.

Conservatives need not apply.

The Party’s over.

Two years in the wilderness with Obama wrecking the country is the price we will have to pay in order to purge the liberal elitists who now run the Republican Party.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m done voting this year.
