Press Releases Contact: Brendan Daly/Nadeam Elshami 202-226-7616 For Immediate Release 05/17/2008 Speaker Pelosi Statement on Visit to Iraq

Jerusalem - In preparation for Memorial Day, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a bipartisan congressional delegation flew today from Israel to Iraq to express the appreciation of the Congress to our troops for their patriotism, their courage, and their service to our country. The delegation met with General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Mahmud al-Mashhadani, the Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives. Speaker Pelosi issued the following statement:

“In the meetings in Baghdad today, I made clear that the war must be brought to an end. It has already taken far too many American and Iraqi lives, it has cost far too much in money and the reputation of the United States, and it has drained far too much from the capability of our military.

“The Iraqi officials said that provincial elections would be held this year and that they would be transparent, inclusive, and a step toward national reconciliation. I hope this will be the case.”

So how hard did Mookie and the Iranians laugh at her...?

And she was made POTUS when?

on the up side, she probably just ensured a lot more republican military votes - they don't appreciate a plan that throws their hard work and sacrifice and successes down the toilet - but in her convoluted brain, she probably thinks the troops will cheer her plans -

These traitors still haven't grasped the difference between this and Viet Nam - nor the vast difference between a conscripted military and a volunteer one.

"I made clear that the war must be brought to an end."

That arrogant stupid Bitch. What else can be said when this idiot tells our ally, whose people are dying fighting a terrorist enemy, that the "war must end". What a sad sad day for America. How disgraceful.

I voted for President Bush, and I don’t regret it.

But I’ll never understand his refusal to publicly, forcefully challenge this seditious harpy.

It’s as if he’s afraid of her.

The next president can’t have a silly “turn-the-other-cheek” approach that allows his political enemies to define him, and that gives the world the impression that the Speaker of the House wields more power than the president.

We’ll be paying for Bush’s “gentlemanly” weakness for years.

It is beneath the dignity of her office. She did something that a Speaker of the House just doesn’t do. (To use her words against her that she used against President Bush when he spoke to the Israeli Knesset).

Seperation of Powers.

She does her thing in her realm. Right or wrong, including whether she oversteps her boundaries or not. She chose it.

The people decide.

If the people are so stupid or uncaring about America that they let her and her party get away with it, they get the government they deserve.

What did Ronald Reagan do about the parade of Dem congressmen and Senators that went to Nicaragua and supported Daniel Ortega and the Commie Sandinistas against the Contras??

Nothing.

That's all well and good, but what about the rest of us?

Nancy Pelosi expressing appreciation to our troops for their patriotism and their courage is somewhat akin to Osama bin Laden thanking the Pope for his belief in Christ and support for women’s human rights.

Oops!

Speaker Pelosi has "overlooked" that we're still waiting for the Democrats to reveal their "new direction" for Iraq, their so-called plan for Iraq that helped them to win control of Congress in '06.

Also, maybe the same dog that ate the Democrat's "new direction" for Iraq plan also ate Pelosi's explanation for the following.

Speaker Pelosi is possibly in contempt of Sec. 3 of the 14th A. for the following reason. Just as Jane Fonda went to North Vietnam to embarrass American officials, Pelosi made a trip to Syria in '07 to embarrass President Bush. The problem with Pelosi's trip, however, is that given that she had taken an oath to defend the Constitution, she arguably crossed the line established by Sec. 3 by giving comfort to the USA's enemies. Indeed, I would argue that, because of Pelosi's high profile trip to Syria and Sec. 3, Pelosi is no longer legally a congressperson, let alone Speaker of the House.

Bet you that her statement of what she said is NOT what she really said. Pelosi flutters about making herself important at a time when no one was paying any attention to her.
I wonder if she just wanted to make it clear that the Dems are going to win and she will be their mediator with the new Pres. Obama.

Truthfully I’d wager that no top Iraqi officials cared to listen to her - they detest her. I pity the poor Army staff who had to escort the queen bee.........

If the Dems take over House, Senate and Presidency we are so screwed. They will pull out the troops on an announced date. Dems will start mandates and taxes on every part of our normal lifestyle. It will be a Carter Administration all over again with inept people running gov’t and military and that has to scare all of us.
We will be hit again.

However did such an idiot ever rise to become Speaker of the House?
