Where I disagree with John McCan - is that marriage is too important a matter to be left to the states and liberals. It must be enshrined in the U.S Constitution.

Do you think that November’s ballot initiative will win with 60%, like in 2000, or has the state changed a lot in 8 years?

“are pretty much in agreement” on marriage, as the New York Times reported, since both favor legal protections for same-sex couples and oppose same-sex marriage as well as the federal marriage amendment.’

California is a perfect example of how this country is going down hill fast. When the people are over ruled by the black robes, it’s time for the people to take over the states again. It was done once.....it can be done again.

The media are content to say that the candidates "are pretty much in agreement"

Of course the "Media" (i.e. the Democrat Propaganda Machine) will promote Obama and do its best to defeat McCain. That's goes without saying.

The election of McCain to the Presidency depends to a great extent on the Republicans' effectiveness in informing the electorate of the truth and overriding the propaganda of the Democrat Propaganda Machine--and that's a scary thought considering the Republicans' amazing prestidigitation in plucking defeat from the esophagus of victory.

>A strong enough voter backlash in California has a chance of putting the state’s electoral votes in play:

Bawahahaha. Okay.

It's only a gift for McCain if he decides to emphasize the issue, which he apparently isn't going to do.

It should be a gift that stops the bleeding and helps Republicans regain Congressional seats in the South but it appears that Republican party, including beltway conservatives, are too ignorant to realize that social issues are the keep to maintaining and winning back seats in places like Louisiana and Mississippi.

In an ordinary election, this would be a gift from God Almighty to the Republicans.

I expect McCain to squander it and continue his jihad against conservatives, lest he be branded by his friends in the Democrat media as divisive.

We have all of these wedges (e.g. working class jobs versus enviro-loons) and McCain is refusing the use them. This sucks.

Regarding the decision of California judges concerning gay marriage, given that the judges not only had Proposition 22 in their faces, but also that Californian’s will likely consider a one-man, one-woman marriage amendment to their constitution in November, the judges’ decision reeks of pro-gay, special-interest PC.

Romans 1:25-27 tells us that same-sex sexual relationships are a consequence of idolatry. In other words, such relationships are a consequence of disobeying the 1ST COMMANDMENT, a major aspect of the GREATEST COMMANDMENT, to love the jealous God with all your being.

Homosexuals need to keep in mind, however, that the good news of the gospel is not about how God despises same-sex sexual relationships. In fact, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 indicates that certain members of that church had been slaves to such relationships but had been cleansed in Jesus' name. So these former homosexuals had evidently repented and accepted God's grace to straighten their lives out.

This article could prove correct- that a lot of conservative voters will turn out to overturn the judges’ decision even though they are only lukewarm about John McCain. This could backfire in the DemocRATS’ face!

after the Massachusetts same-sex marriage decision in 2004, Catholic Charities shut down its adoption services rather than comply with a government order to place children with same-sex couples

I wonder, are there Muslim adoption agencies in Massachusetts? Would they courts in Massachusetts have exempted them?
