WASHINGTON - Barack Obama fired back at President Bush yesterday, accusing him of an "appalling attack" for suggesting that the Democratic presidential hopeful wanted to appease America's enemies.
"Now, that's exactly the kind of appalling attack that's divided our country and that alienates us from the world," Obama said.
"And that's why we need change in Washington. That's part of the reason why I'm running for president of the United States of America."
Speaking before the Israeli Knesset earlier this week, Bush laced into those who believe that the United States should negotiate with leaders of terrorist states.
Last summer, Obama said emphatically during one of the Democratic debates he would gladly meet with the leaders of Iran and Syria and other sworn enemies of America "without preconditions...

BTW on the early threads yesterday it was said that Obama bombed completely when he was asked questions, ie not the speech he gave, but a Q & A session. Have you heard anything more about that? It seems to have totally disappeared. I guess that's the magic of the MSM.

Why don't we seize the opportunity provided by the MSM's deification of Obama to permanently de-claw the IRS?

The people then need to wise up to the major problem that the federal government is not operating within the restraints of the federal Constitution, particularly where constitutionally unauthorized federal spending is concerned.
The bottom line is that the people need to send big-shot, Constitution-ignoring federal spenders like Obama home as opposed to trying to send people like him to the Oval Office. The people need to get in the faces of the feds, demanding a stop to constitutionally unauthorized federal spending while appropriately lowering federal taxes - or get out of DC.
Obama: "I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems, ....I will not weaponize space... I will slow development of future combat systems... I will institute a 'Defense Priorities Board' to ensure the quadrennial defense review is not used ..."
Then, there will be peace in our time without the evil republicans causing war!

It blows my mind too. The Republicans are so inept—against a loose cannon nutcase like Obama they Pubs should waltz into the White House sweeping Congressional majorities along with them easily. Instead, there’s an excellent chance that they will wrestle Victory to the ground and, knee on chest, wrest defeat from her.
I can’t believe that Ronald Reagan would spend his entire 1964 speech attacking Barack Obama. That was a low blow, even for him. And exactly the sort of divisive politics that America does not need in this important time of Hope And Change.

There is no need to bring race into the discussion. Note that Obama did well in lily-white Iowa and poorly in lily-white West Virginia. Why the change? Obviously, because folks now have a much better picture of what Obama is.
There is no way that his counter arguement of. “This is the same kind of politics I stand to get rid of.” over and over and over again will win over moderates and independents... hey are going to want to know what exactly he plans to do.
