The George Smith case is interesting because both he and his wife were drunk as skunks the night he disappeared. Mrs. Skunk was so intoxicated, she passed out in a hallway outside of a crewman’s cabin and had to be taken back to her room in a wheelchair. The next morning, instead of being a tad bit curious about hubby’s absence (they were on their honeymoon), she went to a spa to freshen up. She still got a million bucks, though.
Apparently the wife of George Smith was drugged. GHB causes memory loss which would explain the gap in her memory since it still would be in her system the next morning. They were newlyweds, on their honeymoon.
He was a large man, and she physically couldn’t have beat him up, caused blood to splash all over the place, then throw him overboard, and didn’t a couch go over, too? One article mentioned Russian mafia on board. There was a theory he was trying to defend his wife from being raped by the Russian guys they met. Incidentally, those men were never found after they left ship.
As I recall, she thought he may have been passed out in another room....as you said they had many drinks. I don’t think it occurred to her that he would have been killed on their honeymoon.
Nice slam on her though.
