That word is "losers."
I will not hestitate at all.
I will vote for McCain readily knowing I have reservations and disagreements on a few issues and common ground on many key issues - Iraq, taxes, spending, judges, pork, litigation.
Those whining about mcCain are narcissists. They have their own image, ego, and issues are not voting/thinking based on the simple patriotic question “Who is best for the *country*, McCain or Obama?”
We have plenty of time to clean out the RINO cr*p in the GOP stables, so long as the *country* remains intact. We cannot assure that will be the case with President Obama, he is that bad that the country as a whole will never be the same. Even his slogans are recycled communist themes!! ... With a Democrat Congress likely, we cannot afford a Democrat free-ride.
The Whig party was fractured based on the slavery issue, leading to its demise. The Republican party is fractured based on numerous issues, among them illegal immigration, size and scope of government, spending, and free speech. It deserves the same fate if it can’t readjust itself back to its conservative platform.
“The RINOS need to go, the message should be vote out the incumbents”
The Democrats are a majority in both houses, so the anti-incumbent message needs to be a message that removes that Democrat majority from power.

I told him Thurs night we were in serious trouble this year.
They'd genuinely rather lose, than "give in" to the conservative voting base within their own party. Sad, but true.
“Do you work for the NRCC?”
Do you work for Soros, Obama, and the Democrats? All you do is bash Republicans and take glee and their current doldrums. that’s not a conservative position, that’s just kneejerk anti-GOP.
” You seem to have the same mind-set”
My mindset is to be proactive and do the right thing for my values and my country.
Here’s what the GOP should do, and btw it is what many GOP Reps are supporting:
Stuff like this that was posted on the blog:
1) Drilling for domestic oil i.e. ANWR, Bakken Formation (ND), and off shore.
2) Support nuclear power plant, fast track utilities plans to build nuclear plants.
3) Forget about ethanol
4) Pass legislation to stop the boutique gas formulations.
5) Protect our 2nd ammendment rights for all firearms. Even the lowly 6-shooter is a semi-auto.
6) We don’t need a nanny. Government is meant to protect our freedoms. Not restrict them. McCain is wrong on campaign finance reform.
7) Protect our borders. Stop illegal immigration NOW. Reform legal immigration, friends who have immigrated have to hire high powered lawyers... This should not be necessary.
8) Pass legislation to build a natural gas pipeline from the north slope to the US or to Canada.
9) Forget about cap-and-trade on carbon. It is a hoax get over it.
10) DEMAND A VOTE ON MAKING BUSH TAX CUTS PERMANENT. FIGHT THE DEMOCRATS ON TAXES 24/7.
11) FIGHT THE DEMOCRAT MAJORITY 24/7 ON GWOT.
12) FIGHT THE DEMOCRAT MAJORITY 24/7 ON THEIR OVER-SPENDING AND LACK OF TRANSPARENCY IN GOVT.
13) FIGHT THE DEM MAJORITY ON TORT REFORM
14) END USELESS BOONDOGGLES AND ZERO OUT EARMARKS AND PORK.
And put it all together in
A CONSERVATIVE GOP AGENDA FOR THE NEXT CONGRESS
“they have and are also ignoring the well-written opinions (over 500 of them, I’m told) of conservative posters.”
BULL. These views are WELL represented in the MANY conservative Congressmen and activists who work DAILY with Rep Cole and others.
You are the us vs them, I am saying *WE* conservatives have to stick together and support conservative candidates for Congress ... there are HUNDREDS OF THEM.

Ignorance of history is ignorance. comments on the blog that are pointless bashing drivel are not ‘wisdom’. It’s says mroe about your mindset than about reality.
The GOOD comments are the point-blank “do this” Stuff. Like:
1. Cut spending, cut earmarks, cut subsidies.
2. No universal healthcare. I’m military, I have “universal healthcare” and it is terrible. People screaming for universal healthcare are ignorant about what that means and will not be satisfied with what is available.
3. School vouchers. Don’t worry, our working class kids won’t be invading all of the politicians kids private schools. Even with vouchers we wouldn’t be able to afford the cost. However, we should be able to have some input/choice of where our children go to school. If you think the current system is working check out the drop out rates throughout the country.
4. Secure our borders/Enforce the immigration laws, no amnesty. That the two border patrol agents trying to protect our country are still in jail is a national disgrace.
5. A working energy plan. How about coal to gasoline? Just a thought. Hopefully, President Bush begging the Saudis for more oil and be told to go away was a wake up call.
6. Embrace the internet and realize the rules of the game have changed. You can no longer sneak things through on the citizens, did you not learn with the last failed attempt at amnesty? The internet is a great mobilization tool, use it to your advantage.
7. Drop the modernize our laws line. It is much ado about nothing. Until you start enfrocing laws, it doesn’t matter one iota what you change.
8. Grow some skin, the party gives the appearance of being afraid of criticism so we end up with things like polar bears on endangered species list even though the supporting evidence was thin.
AND THIS ...
f the Republicans want to win the hearts and minds of REAL America, here is the PROMISE you should force all Republicans candidates running for office at all levels of government sign and pledge to implement:
Secure the Borders
Elminate funding for sanctuary cities and states
Voter ID Law AND proof of citizenship to register
English as our national language
Severely punish businesses that hire illegals, have a mandatory, accurate way to check ID to get jobs legally.
End the “anchor babies” path to citizenship and government handouts
Gain Energy Independence (drill everywhere, build nuclear plants, build more refineries, develop new energy alternatives)
Stengthen our Defense
Win the war on Terror and give law enforcement and the first responders the tools to protect at home
Stop the Nanny state mentality - it is NOT the government’s role to help me balance my family, job, and other responsibilities
End ALL Earmarks and pork spending - scrap the entire budget and start over, justify EVERY program or end them. I bet this would reduce government spending by one third right away.
Pass the Fair Tax, abolish this insane tax code
End all corruption, ZERO Tolerance
Put education back in the hands of the local school boards
Even if you adopted HALF of these ideas as a PROMISE to the Americans, you would win the election in a landslide. However, you have let the Democrats run circles around you, you have let the main stream press define you, and you are pandering to liberals who want to ruin this country. You have lost your base. You have to work hard to win it back. You have ruined the “brand”.
- end quote -
I am not against *constructive* criticism of hapless GOP leaders. I’ve made it myself. I am against pointless bashing that celebrates the GOP losing to the far far far far worse Democrats.
Because it is that simple: GOP loses = leftwing socialist Democrat majority wins.
Wow, I got a new tagline out of that!! :)
“The ‘simple patriotic’ part is too, too simple. “
Really now. Voting for what is best for the country is ‘too simple’?
Are you one of those elitist liberal college professor types who will educate me out of *PATRIOTISM*??!??
Go ahead, tell me how patriotism is such a bad thing in voting.
BS, what state are you in?
First, I’m not advocating any candidate of or the positions of the Democrats, so your comment was irrevelant. However, you ARE supporting the NRCC by saying we need to vote for Republicans, conservative or not.
I have no glee at all at seeing the country head into obscurity. Our once superpower status will be all but a memory in another generation or two. All because the Republicans refused to stick to a conservative agenda and let the Dems take over (whether in the form of a RINO or a Dem).
I do like your outline for what the GOP should do. As you noticed, it is included in many of the suggestions on the blog. So why discount those posts when you are reiterating something similar?
I am all for any conservative congressmen, whether a D or R. How I differ from you (I believe) is that just because someone has an R next to their name doesn’t make them worthy of a vote. It’s their record that counts. Sadly, nowadays, some Democrats are more conservative than many Republicans. These fuzzy lines are what will do in the Republican party. Those that don’t follow closely won’t be able to tell the difference between their conservative congressman and a RINO president - and the conservative will get the fallout of the actions of the RINO. That will be McCain’s worst legacy.
I wish I still had the address for that board the Congress staff hangs out on.
They just oozed profane contempt for the voters. I’d like to see their reactions to this.
