At this point in politics, my husband and I would be delighted to attend such a protest and would drive halfway across the country in order to do so, if it were scheduled at a time that was not critical to our farm operation.
Well put...and as much as I think Obama is an empty suit, I will NOT vote for MacCain. I've been swallowing the GOP's mediocre candidates since 1988 and am now saying "No more!". They've given us mediocrity because that's what we've continued to accept. If the end of the GOP is necessary for a new conservative party to rise from its ashes, then let's pull the plug now and have done with it.
At the risk of sounding repetitious, I'll say it again. The GOP party leaders best resemble the dissembling, duplicitous Scottish nobility in Braveheart.
AMEN x 14
BWAHAHAH!!!
We are so far beyond screwed that it will take the light from screwed over 1 million years to reach us.
That was a quote from the website. Forgot the quotation marks. :p
Will Mr. McCain start working on the "secure our borders" thing before or after he speaks at the La Raza Convention?
See: http://michellemalkin.com/2008/05/05/mccain-to-speak-at-open-borders-la-raza-the-race-conference/
Will Juan Hernandez, McCain's Hispanic Outreach Director, who has been quoted as saying "We must not only have a free flow of goods and services, but also start working for a free flow of people.” be there to applaud?

How about Jerry Perenchio. He’s a National Finance Co-Chair of the McCain 2008 campaign, and anti-assimilation, pro-immigration.

Can you point out where McCain, through his many associations, has been pro-border security?
Every time a Conservative resigns and a not-so-conservative takes their place, the GOP goes a little farther to the left.
We need MORE conservatives at ALL levels if we hope to TAKE BACK THE GOP.
Otherwise, were just giving it away.
I’ll be laughing at Juan McTraitor on Nov 5 when McLoser rants about how Conservatives sold him out. Payback is a bi-otch. ROFL.
Not until Juanito, Jorge and Fat Teddy start letting me and my homeboys park ourselves in their living rooms whenever we want and eating and drinking from their refrigerators whatever we want, this remains a no-go. Just as Bush wouldn't surrender his daughters to any disease-ridden, gang-banging grade school drop out without a fight, he shouldn't expect us to surrender our fair land without one either.
“We must not only have a free flow of goods and services, but also start working for a free flow of people.
You jumped to an invalid conclusion
The free flow of goods and services occurs within a tight network of custom, rules and regulations.
McCain is saying that the flow of people should occur in a similar but presently dysfunctional net of rules and regulations.
This, in a nutshell, is the primary argument against anything other than Reagan Conservatism. If we allow any two of the three pillars of conservatism to join with the RINOs in an election, Conservatism is lost.
This is precisely why none of the "electable" front-runners were, in fact, electable at all. None could serve all three pillars of Conservatism. There were only three Reagan Conservatives in the race: Hunter, Tancredo, and Keyes, and only one of those three remains.
Expedience trumped principle and left us with Republicanism gone amok.
The only path to victory lies in Keyes, not McCain.
A Conservative party is built from the ground up by Conservatives.
Most of the delegates in the local county GOP convention had no idea who DH was.
The GOP without Conservatives at all levels, is no different than the D-Rat party.
The media has blackballed Hunter, Tancredo, and Keyes.
And McCain is their favorite opposition.
If there were enough Conservatives in the GOP, they could boot McCain and give DH give the chance to give the D-Rats 2 black eyes and a bloody nose, something he could do without breaking a sweat.
Were really a long way up a dry creek.
(May God have mercy)
I doubt that Hunter is going to get a chance- even if the convention is a total blowout. any fall back candidate is going to take the shape of a Romney or Huckabee (neither of whom could win any better than McCain).
Too bad, too. I would have Hunter over any other.
Keyes, however, has renounced the Republicans and is running as an independent, endorsed by the American Independent Party. He is in position, and not beholden to the Republican hierarchy.
There's a raft of money out there that isn't going to go to McCain, It might as well go to the Reaganite in the race. The same with votes. How anyone would hold their nose for the likes of McCain, but not be able to vote for Keyes is beyond my comprehension.
With all the liberals and weekend conservatives voting for McCain, I fear a split vote and a D-Rat win.
We are in deep doggy-doo.
I fear nothing.
McCain is selling the same swamp water as Obama. Obama sells it much better, and is playing to his natural audience. Betting on McCain is going to yield a democrat anyway, in all likelihood, and if not, leaves us with a traitorous and ignoble Republican. Neither is sufficient in this time of need.
At the worst, Keyes blocks McCain from his win, and Conservative prove once again that the Pubbies will lose without them, which would suit me just fine.
At best, a true Reagan Conservative ascends with no ties to the GOP, RNC, or Republican leadership, and capable of uniting all three pillars of Conservatism (SHAZZAM!) If he proposes a contract with America (which he will, in some form), He can provide the coattails needed for Conservative congressmen. All of the above cannot happen with McCain.
So what's the downside?
The downside of a split vote is some D-Rat stocks the SC with judges who neuter the constitution.
Other than that, not much.
Unfortunately, it has been demonstrated that the media can effectively blackball a candidate.
As much as I loath it, the fact remains that McCain is the presumed nominee and the media is ignoring everyone else.
If Keyes is going to make it, he is gona have to pop the media such a good one that they wake up in the next time zone a week ofter the election.
Which Keyes are you speaking of? Alan?
I’m referring to the Keyes mentioned in 154.
I believe roamer_1 was referring to Alan Keyes.
So, yes. (I think)
But, politically, he's a waste of time.
