“hysterical” is sexist ... and as used in in this case accurate and hilarious.

from L. hystericus “of the womb,” from Gk. hysterikos “of the womb, suffering in the womb,” from hystera “womb” (see uterus). Originally defined as a neurotic condition peculiar to women and thought to be caused by a dysfunction of the uterus. Hysterics is 1727; hysteria, abstract noun, formed 1801. http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=hysterical

LOL! This statement offers some hope that McCain will not be a doormat for the Demagogues despite his usual preference for civility -- this should be one of the main talking points of every R. over this issue of Obama and Bush's speech -- the Demagogues are in hysteria when President Bush did not even mention any of them. If anything the statement might have been directed most at Jimmy Carter, but since Obama is in effect running for "Jimmy Carter's 2nd Term" it's not surprising that Obama took such offense.

Hussein is showing signs of serious mental stress. This rant has an agitated, paranoid flavor. If he is coming unwrapped over this, then he is not fit to deal with the demands of national office. BoyOBoyObama is clearly not ready for prime time.

McCain should never have said anything about the global warming disaster. But even if he does travel down that road, his take on global warming is still better than either of his rivals.

“Mike Huckabee on Fox & Friends this morning was making the point that the Democrats should have pretended that Bush’s remarks didn’t have anything to do with them.”

Exactly right. It was like Goldwater’s reaction to the daisy ad of 1964. Analysts later said it would have been better for Goldwater not to consider the ad an attack on him but rather to have said something like I join Mr Johnson in working to avoid the possibility of nuclear war.

Palestinians in Gaza Are Phonebanking for Barack Obama

Phil Klein calls our attention to an al-Jazeera news report that sounds like a parody, but is genuine: A report on Palestinians in Gaza who are phonebanking in support of Barack Obama’s campaign.

I transcribed the most jaw-dropping parts:

REPORTER: It may be hard to believe, but working in this tiny Internet cafe in Gaza City may just be one of Barack Obama’s biggest fans.

Before every U.S. primary, 23-year-old Ibrahim Abu Jayyab gathers 17 of his friends to try and rally support for Obama’s campaign in the U.S.

So why does a young Palestinian living in Gaza spend so much of his time and money on an election thousands of miles away?

ABU JAYYAB: [translated] It all started at the time of the U.S. primaries. After studying Obama’s electoral campaign manifesto, I thought, ‘this is a man that is capable of change inside America.’ As for potential change in the Middle East, he can also do that. I think he can bring peace to the area, or at least this is what we hope.

REPORTER: And the game plan? Ibrahim and his friends call random numbers in the U.S. before every primary to deliver one simple message:

ABU JAYYAB: [in English] Elect Senator Obama. I will change. I will achieve... the justice in the Middle East.
The rest of the report is about Bush failing to achieve peace in the Middle East, the U.S. “unwillingness to apply pressure on Israel over illegal settlements,” a professor who says his students are following the election but

A potttery maker says, “unless you support Israel, you won’t get in the White House.”

The report concludes by showing graffiti in Gaza depicting a monstrous Bush, lips dripping with blood, clutching the world and drinking blood through a straw from a pile of skulls. The caption is, “Good bye Mr. Bush, we wont’ miss you.”

The reporter’s voice over of the graffiti: “There does to be one thing people here agree on.”

From the article:

“That’s the Bush-McCain record on protecting this country. Those are the failed policies that John McCain wants to double down on, because he still hasn’t spelled out one substantial way he’d be different from George Bush when it comes to foreign policy.”

REALLY,Barry Hussein? If so, please enlighten us on how many attacks on U.S. soil have happened since 9/11. What an idiot. Unfit to hold ANY office.

The average Joe voter doesn’t know what an appeaser is because our public education system sucks.

This being an erudite crowd, I’m sure you all remember the Monty Python skit “The Funniest Joke in the World” where the comedian wrote a joke so funny it was lethal. The Brits translated it into German and unleashed “joke warfare” on the Germans. The FUNNIEST part of the skit was the quip that the new joke was “20 times deadlier that Britain’s pre-war joke.” Cut to clip of Chamberlain waiving his scrap of paper around. Now, THAT was hilarious! I got it. Today, how many high school seniors would?

This will keep happening again and again throughout the campaign season if Fauxbama does get the D nomination. He’s beyond a beneath bush league shrub who is completely in over his head.

McCain will be making him look like the childish schoolboy he is repeatatively.

I for one can’t wait for the debates, if you thought Cheney b$tchsl@pped Breck Girl, just wait until McCain gets a hold of Fauxbama.

Fauxbama has absolutely ZERO chance of winning a national general election... and if he’s the nominee, I think he’ll be lucky if he even gets 40% of the popular vote.

Appeasement, literally: calming, reconciling, acquiring peace by way of concessions or gifts (the verb ‘to pay’ also goes back to the Latin ‘pax’ = peace). Most commonly, appeasement is used for the policy of accepting the imposed conditions of an aggressor in lieu of armed resistance, usually at the sacrifice of principles. Usually it means giving in to demands of an aggressor in order to avoid war

Appeasment... them’s fightin words

Obama should stick to subjects he's clearly forthcoming on, like gay marriage, and stop being sooooooo sensitive on the possible inference that he was the appeaser Bush was warning against.
