They are not too excited at DU - they had two threads, one Video with 2 posts and one with 3 - no one has added another post in over 30 minutes

I shudder to think what McCain’s response will be. Probably laud Obama, embrace his philosophy and tell people to stop being partisan and picking his speech apart and trying to attack Obama over things he said. After all, we are all friends and Americans. It would be wrong to try and gain an electoral advantage at the expense of another American.

I thought Bush was referring to Carter meeting with Hammas.

But, you know, if the cardigan fits....

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, what you just heard was the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee wandering aimlessly in desperate hope for a cogent thought. His point was, he was trying to tell these people in his audience in Cape Girardeau yesterday that our foreign policy is all screwed up because every asset that we need to actually win the war against Islamofascists is in Iraq, and that's a phony war, it shouldn't have happened, we don't even have any Arabic translators for Afghanistan. And then he quickly realized, wait a minute, they don't speak Arabic there, oh, God, what am I going to do, then he makes up a couple languages that they speak, but then he said, we need some Arabic translators there because you never know who is there. They speak Dari and Pashto in Afghanistan. I have been there. Afghans do not speak Arabic. Now, this is from the guy who said he's visited 57 states. This is the guy who, by the way, when he was on the floor of the US Senate yesterday was not wearing his American flag lapel pin. When he showed up in Cape Girardeau, he was wearing his American flag lapel pin. (cont.)

Scary analysis. But likely spot on.

No he won’t.

McCain, for all his faults, will WIPE THE FLOOR WITH OBAMA.

Mark my words. You heard it here first. Obama wins 10 states, tops.

Yeah, “McCain and Bush anytime anywhere”.
I think he’s gearing up for Smackdown.

Am I the only one who thought Obama may have been a bit
intoxicated?

"They are not too excited at DU"

My guess is that the leftards don't know how to try to spin it yet.... they are quivering in fear that their dream candidate is going to unravel over the next few weeks and months, and that a large majority of Americans will see him as the weak-minded appeaser that he is. Do they try to make him sound tougher to appeal to Middle America, when there is so much on the record showing he is a diehard leftist? Or do they try to vindicate left-wing polices of anti-US appeasement weasels around the world?

Maybe he was mingling among the Clingers and drinking Buds, trying to show he is one of them.

Let’s not make that a drinking game... I’m thinking a hangover of Jonestown dimensions.

LTEP is correct. As an armed group, Hamas should not have been allowed to participate in elections. Per Oslo the parties were to agree to the nature of elections. Israel was opposed to Hamas participation, Abbas was largely quiet on the issue-about all he could do, but the US insisted they participate, foolishly stating that those running were peaceful businessmen, not terrorists. GWB made a mistake. As we did tolerating Hizbollah in the Lebanese elections, though we had less leverage there, and allowing an armed al Sadr to participate in the political process in Iraq.

Of course Obama would embrace Hamas, his pastor says they have a new worthwhile plan for the region. So Obama would be worse.

A Pro-Hamas Foreign Policy?-Why is Washington urging terrorists to run for elective office?

Secretary Rice on CNN: US will respect elections if Hamas wins

White House: OK if Hamas controls PLC- "business professionals...not terrorists"

White House: Hamas members elected in PA not terrorists

I think Hamas has been effectively neutered. They have no bargaining power and can't launch any large scale attacks on Israel as they were able to do before. They were elected by the people which originally gave the people a sense of worth but just like the Democrats, Hamas as abandoned the people in pursue of battling Israel and the people know it.
