The recent raid on Warren Jeffs' Yearning for Zion ranch in Eldorado, Texas, which resulted in the removal of more than 400 children from their homes, has thrust allegations of widespread child abuse at the polygamous sect into the national spotlight.
But one of the darkest secrets of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints unfolds at a seedy roadside motel in the remote Nevada desert, where underage girls --some as young as 14 --are allegedly forced through hasty and secret wedding ceremonies.
Elissa Wall says she was one such 14-year-old who was taken to the motel and plunged into wedlock with no choice but to accept and obey the command of Jeffs.
Sam Brower, a private detective who has spent five years investigating Jeffs and his sect for a number of former members, says the weddings are done "covertly, real cloak-and-dagger like."
Wall, now 21, told ABC News' John Quinones that, "I was trapped. I felt like I had nowhere to turn. I did not want to go through with this marriage. I felt, honestly, what it was like to die."

Wall has documented her terrible ordeal in a new memoir called "Stolen Innocence."
In it, she described in detail growing up in the sect that she says betrayed her faith. She says her wedding was the culmination of a traumatic experience that began when church leaders removed her, her mom and sisters from their family and reassigned them to. . .

Well, it doesn’t seem to be much of a cabal anyway, r9etb. I mean, they never gave me the magic decoder ring, no beanie, and I have no idea where all the secret meetings are held, if they’re held at all. I mean, what’s a cabal, without secret meetings???
;)
I guess we could move you up...coco, you want to switch places?
Colo, I see the First Presidency and Leading General Authority, All-Seeing Seer and Ground-Level Revelator of the X.M.A.A.M. has gone very quiet.
Miz, any more stalking, since I have been gone part of the day?
More and more accounts like this keep coming out.
I fail to see how anyone can defend this group and its horrendous lifestyle.
Good on the Texas Rangers.
Your point is?
Just hose it down...........
That's a sticky wicket........for the mormons.
And they know it in their souls........
Kindly explain, and while you’re at it, what was your last ID?

No beef. Just stating a fact. I enjoy seeing the anti Mormon Cabal members on the FLDS/CPS threads.
If I thought this was relevant to homeschoolers, Id ping the homeschool pings lists myself.
Maybe you should. The precedent that is being set here could be very dangerous for Homeschoolers. One of the biggest allegations claimed by the CPS is indoctrination. This should scare the homeschoolers as much as it does me.
I guess if you aren’t teaching “Rape 101” to your children, you’re probably ok.
Ok : ) I was asked to leave BYU because I wrote a paper on John Taylors excommunication where his defense was a prophecy from his father, the prophet, that stated that once the Lord gave a commandment it was an eternal law not subject to the whims of man. John Taylor's excommunication was specifically for continuing to perform polygamous Temple marriages (out in the woods) after the new Prophet had banned plural marriages.
How is that for honesty? I bet that should give you anti Mormon Cabal members plenty of ammo : )
What are these "hose down the pigs" threads or the Ecumenical threads that you keep mentioning? I invented the Cabal phrase as you know : )
Well, since all their doctrine come from Joseph Smith, and their books are the same, and they both can trace their lineage back through Brigham Young to Joseph Smith, only a mass spinner could conclude they are NOT essentially the same.
They can claim all they want. They have all been excommunicated if they were ever members of the LDS religion.
Most would call protestants and Catholics essentially the same, but in order to avoid logical consistency, you must ignore the essence that grey squirrels and red squirrels are - squirrels. So, FLDS and LDS have nothing in common? Hoooey, that is a stretch now isnt it.
If you consider Protestant and Catholics to be essentially the same then sure I guess it would be fair to consider the LDS and FLDS to be essentially the same. They are all Christian and the differences are minor in the big picture.
No, if you were really honest it would make you an anti theist : ) or possibly an atheist.
I can assure you, I am honest and if you were honest, you would admit that you know nothing about me.
Just hose it down...........
LOL It hurts to laugh. I tumbled a thousand feet today and I am not sure everything is functioning properly. I was halfway up the mountain, beautiful warm sunny day, perfect corn snow, good friends, and my binding broke, just snapped off, and down I went.
The worst part was I had to wait an hour for my buddies to climb to the top and then ski down to collect my debris that had been scattered down the mountainside. Luckily I am pretty good on one ski or they probably would have left me to spend the night up there. I have never enjoyed post-holing through the snow.

Relax. It was a joke. Didn't you notice the : ) If you don't like getting your chain yanked, why do you post so much?
I don't have a clue what that means.
He questioned my honesty, I answered him.
