Both of them are pathetic. But McCain at least has the virtue of not having trained his children to hate me, nor married a wife who hates me. I think that to be the very least I should be able to expect of a president, but Obama doesn't even meet that standard.I think that ultimately will trump any other consideration, and McCain will be president.
Obama is part white and part not. Unlike, say, TIger Woods, Obama felt he had to choose one over the other, disown and discredit one and prefer the other, to become one or the other.

Indeed McCain won't go there - but that doesn't mean that Obama's, Wrights, and Michelle's sentiments can be hid under a bushel. If two-thirds of the Democratic primary voters in WV know it, I think the cat is out of the bag. Enough that, in the privacy of the voting booth, it will be hard for white people to pull the lever for Obama.Whatever people tell telephone pollsters when they do not have the privacy of the voting booth.
Because everyone knows this, it would help if McCain were to nominate a black conservative VP. Not only would the contrast of a patriotic black with Obama help the Obama candidacy to sink without a trace, a black Repubican VP would ameliorate the subsequent reaction among the black public at large to that result. Which would be good for the republic - precisely as the provision that a VP can't win all the electoral votes of his home state if that state isn't different from the president's intends to help unite the country.
