Barack Obama accused President Bush of "a false political attack" Thursday after Bush warned in Israel against appeasing terrorists early salvos in a general election campaign that's already blazing even as Obama tries to sew up his party's nomination.
The White House denied Obama was Bush's target, but the Democratic presidential contender said the Republican president's intent was clear. John McCain, the likely GOP nominee, jumped in, too, using the opportunity to argue that Obama was showing "naivete and inexperience and lack of judgment" in his willingness to meet with U.S. foes.
...As the workday began stateside, Bush gave a speech to Israel's Knesset in which he spoke of the president of Iran, who has called for the destruction of the U.S. ally. Then, Bush said: "Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along."
"We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history," Bush added.

Why do I fear that Obama will somehow be the next POTUS?
Methinks he doth protest too much.
He is a novice on national security issues as it is.
Don’t remember the President mentioning Barrack Obama. Maybe, Sen. Obama has a guilty conscience on that issue?

Hey Rock! Check out the note I put about you & your 80’s ping list in my Profile (under my pic) in big font letters.
Niiiice!
I actually saw the speech. Obamas name, his status or rank, nor his capacity as a candidate were ever mentioned by the President.
LOL the taste of popcorn is good anytime. I need a cool drink to go with it and I’m all set for the comedy to begin.
President Bush put the shoe down; Obama stepped in it, and it happened to be a perfect fit.
He stepped in SOMETHING, fer shure.
Gosh, does Obama want everyone to keep talking about that idiotic stuff he said last year about being willing to take a meeting with suicide bombers (or whatever)? Kind of a dumb move for Dumbo to even suggest the Prez was talking about him.
Ancient Chinese saying: If you find self in hole, stop digging.
Pssst, Barry, he was talkin’ about Carter.
Too late now you done showed your cards.
There is no changing history, Obama. Not unless you have planned a 1984 change of history, according to the Stalinist method of social change.
I guess BHO just identified himself as someone who thinks “...some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along.”
Are those shadows, or does Michelle need to shave those pits?
