Those were the three dissenters in my previous post. I didn't clean that post up well enough ;-)

Romans 1:25-27 tells us that same-sex sexual relationships are a consequence of idolatry. In other words, such relationships are a consequence of disobeying the 1ST COMMANDMENT, a major aspect of the GREATEST COMMANDMENT, to love the jealous God with all your being.
Homosexuals need to keep in mind, however, that the good news of the gospel is not about how God despises same-sex sexual relationships. In fact, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 indicates that certain members of that church had been slaves to such relationships but had been cleansed in Jesus' name. So these former homosexuals had evidently repented and accepted God's grace to straighten their lives out.

Given what I've read from the opinion so far, California voters have not learned from the New York Supreme Court's relatively recent decision on gay marriage. If California's majority voters want to allow only man woman marriages then it is up to them to flex their voting muscle to amend their constitution to say so.
The bottom line is that Californians can choose not to be slaves to their own constitution or the judges who interpret it.

We, in California, need the many Conservative groups to come together and help us get rid of the ACLU people on our Supreme Court. We cannot have Sodomy legalized in our state. Ramona Ripston’s husband and their disciples have to go as did Rose Bird.
Everytime we work ourselves to death getting a referendum on the ballot and vote overwhelmingly for it our terrible CA Supreme Ct and/or Appellate Ct. throw out our votes. Enough! Throw them out instead otherwise we are spinning our wheels and the Marxist continue to win.

Were Californians misguided to belief that voting on a proposition would be the best way to reflect majority will concerning one man, one woman-only marriage when they should have directed their efforts to having their constitution amended?

I was wondering if you think people in the US are free to practice idolatry?

And that flex might come as early as November. There's an initiative that has collected over 1,100,000 signatures and we'll know sometime in the near future from our California Secretary of State if it has officially qualified for the November ballot. (getting over a million is a good sign it'll make it... 694,354 valid signatures are required)

Just to clarify my previous post, the initiative is a Constitutional Amendment.

I don’t defend Arnold on his views, but his appointee Corrigan voted against homosexual marriage

Are any of the Supreme Court judges who supported this up for a vote this year? If so, this is an opportunity to clean up the court.

(Karl Marx supported free trade. Does that make him a free market conservative?)
To: NormsRevenge
They should hold off celebrating. There's a constitutional amendment that would revalidate the ban. Thank God I no longer live in California. The courts can't do that here in Colorado where the marriage protection law is written into the state constitution and is beyond the power of the courts to strike down. Californians will soon get the opportunity to overrule the California Supreme Court at the ballot box this year.

California's voting majority may have learned something from the New York Supreme Court's decision on gay marriage as it concerns New York's constitution after all.

They get appointed and then stand for re-election every 12 years unless they get recalled first, e.g.; Rose Bird, a Moonbeam appointee.

One Chief Justice and six associate justices are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments. The appointments are confirmed by the public at the next general election; justices also come before voters at the end of their 12-year terms.
To be considered for appointment, a person must be an attorney admitted to practice in California or have served as a judge of a court of record in this state for 10 years immediately preceding appointment (Cal. Const., art VI, § 10).

Chin would look to be the only one standing for re-election and he voted
No.. sooo..

Marvin R. Baxter, (since 1991), Associate Justice
Ming W. Chin, (since 1996), Associate Justice
Carol A. Corrigan, (since 2006), Associate Justice
Joyce L. Kennard, (since 1989), Associate Justice

I just saw that the ban on gay marriages will be on the ballot in November.
That ought to bring out the family value people.
McCain may just have a chance of winning if that issue is on the ballot the same time as the general election.

I’m surprised you’re so impressed with those who dwell in Congress. I find it hard to find one that’s worth a bucket of warm spit, much less one that I want to elect as President.
