The closing down of Vieques meant closing down Roosevelt Roads Naval Base as well because, after all, Rosie Roads was there to complement the Vieques firing range and vice versa. Once one of those components was gone, the other one had to go to. That part of the Island (Northeast) is suffering those closures bigtime...
They demonstrated in the streets shouting "No Yankees" and "No USA" and then when they got exactly what they wanted they screamed about that, as well.
