I think the time has past for any deal for a resignation. The legislators evidently want his head, they are the ones that would not take a delay or deal. Dann is hoping that a separation of powers lawsuit will save him, but I am sure that the court will rule that an investigation during impeachment is not only allowable, but necessary.
Now that the investigation has started, I don't see any reason for Dann to resign, except for saving face and public humiliation. I expect that he will eventually go to jail (or at least probation) for obstruction. His only weapon now is to make it as painful on the Democratic party and the state.

The Columbus Dispatch is now reporting Dann & Strickland will hold a joint conference at 4:45 in the governor's office.....the end is near. lol
