Not to be pro or anti smoking but the logic is every loose.
"I know too many people who have been in combat in their 20's and 30's who HAVE NOT died to have faith in the reports anymore.
There is a population of people who never been in combat who have died in their 20's and 30's - can we conclude that NOT going into combat causes death? Of course not."
Does going into combat increase the premature death rate of the population that goes into combat?
Yes.
Does smoking increase the premature death rate of the population that smokes?
Am I going to tell people that they cannot risk their lives if they want to?
