Why would Cole be at fault here? It’s the political cycle moving against “non-candidate” GWB. Even Jeb Bush knew to stay off the ballot in 2008. I understand the D.C. people did withhold funds from Woody Jenkins in LA believing that he would lose, as he did.

I was thinking. If GWB were a Democrat, the Democrats would be rallying behind him and defending him at the pass. Similarly, if GWB were a Republican, the GOP might actually develop a backbone to oppose his failed policies.

Jenkins was a deeply flawed candidate. Problem is, Greg Davis, who lost in Mississippi last night, wasn’t flawed. He was a strong candidate in a strongly conservative district. And the NRCC didn’t abandon the guy — they threw $1.5 million into the race.

Because, Cole has allowed the local Repub primaries to get ugly and personal and has lost control over the local elections .The Dems or DCC has taken control of these local elections and stopped these vicious primaries races while the RCC has lost control. The DCC hand picks the local candidate internally based on the local demographics . Why do you think all new southern Dems are real conservative in these ads and actions . The RCC allows the locals to destroy each other or hand pick some corrupt local clown that controls the local RNC . I am in N Cal and the two Repub congress primaries is ugly and personal and the winner will be damaged goods by the general election. The ads are way out of line and mean.

those pubies are bright bulbs and sharp knives all.
their ranks have been dwindling since our famous vietnam fighter pilot ace,
randy puke cunningham, got caught stealing millions in a quid pro quo.
a pubie gay u.s. congressman, named mark foley sent some sexual e-mails to an intern.
like most pubies, he resigned. he did not have sex like barney frank, or gary studds who was censored by his peers.
and the list of errant pubies goes on and on.
and the gop wonders why things aren’t going well,
and why we conservatives are p......

Davis had to deal with a ugly primary fight.
All three of these repub has either a ugly primary fight or a Repub was a awful candidate that was allowed to run because they controlled the local machine. The DCC put a stop to that crap and dictates who can run and who can not and they stopped these ugly primary battles.

The latest direct mail piece accuses Davis, the mayor of the Memphis suburb of Southaven, of attempting to honor Confederate general and Ku Klux Klan founder Nathan Bedford Forrest with a statue of him in his hometown -- a charge that the Davis campaign vigorously disputes.
And on Sunday, Democratic officials distributed DCCC fliers at African-American churches in the district that accuse Republicans of making it harder for us to vote fake phone calls, calls with the wrong election date, uniformed guards at the polls, even people inside the polls challenging each and every vote

Folks are voting their pocketbooks and all the dissertations, analysis, handwringing, whitewashing, blame-games, finger-pointing, moaning/groaning and spinning will not obviate that fact.

Cole keeps sending me congratulatory letters on being a champion of small business and “nominating” me to be an honorary chairman of the Business Advisory Council (OBTW, how ‘bout a contribution to defeat those wascally democwats?). Talks about how much I’ve done for America, yadda yadda, when he doesn’t know me from Adam and all I ever did was contribute 200 bucks a couple of years ago. I’m disgusted by how stupid and gullible these politicians think we are. Greed. Just greed.

Similar article:
House GOP hits new low, faces bleak Nov.In the wake of the devastating loss, the first question facing House Republican leaders is whether they will keep Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) as NRCC chairman. Speculation has been rampant that Cole would be asked to step down should Republicans lose in Mississippi, and on Tuesday that chatter intensified.
They go on to say Longtime GOP strategists could not recall a time when an NRCC chairman was ousted in the midst of a cycle. “It’s too late,” a Republican lobbyist said, adding that few, if any, Republicans want to take over the beleaguered NRCC. A GOP strategist differed, saying, “It can’t get any worse.”
Can it?
To: Dick Holmes
There are only 82 districts in the country more Republican than MS-01. Some of them are facing serious Dem challenges (I’m thinking of Alaska at-large, where Don Young has problems). November could be a bloodbath if Obama doesn’t hurt the Dems nationally.

I guess there is just no reason to vote Republican, all you get is Democratic Lite so if you like liberalism you'll vote for the real thing, if you don't well I guess where you gonna go doesn't seem to be working anymore.I can't pull the lever for McPain. I'll vote down ticket for any conservatives but the failure to secure the border EIGHT years after we were attacked ,the surrender on judges while we had the majority led by the party standard bearer, the campaign finance "reform" designed to shut out the unwashed and compassionate conservatism designed to grow governmentsays it all.Newt showed us all the deal sitting next to Nancy spouting ,"we got to get things done in Washington!" You guys left me so no money and I'm not buying the if you don't vote "R" the liberals will have their way, from what I seen you guys always surrender to them any way so what good are you! Show me I'm wrong build the fence a real one not a virtual fantasy fence!
