>I think all Conservatives should boycott McCain this cycle and see if he can win without us
Exactly what my family is doing.
Of course not, but the point is that it becoming very clear that the direction of the current GOP is as intolerable as that of the Dems.
If we have any chance at all to reverse this trend, we have to withdraw our support. - Now.
Otherwise they are both going to very quickly turn us into a steaming pile of a 3rd world nation.
At that time I will not care what party is in power.
dittos.
False dichotomy. And "statying home" is not the only other option. There are down-ticket issues, but the top item will be blank on my ballot.
Tell me again why you’d rather have a Dem in the White House?
Both Obama and McQueeg espouse believe in many liberal policies, such as the gist of the article above. I'd rather have a Democrat implement do them to us than have a RINO implement do them to us with a Republican brand.
(I tried to keep the words small enough, but I may have failed)
We could save a lot a trouble, be bipartisan and all, and have a McBama ticket. No need to waste time on campaigns.
And to top it all off, the polar bear (which is now at historically high numbers) has just been declared “threatened” by the Interior Department of a Republican administration.
What’s a conservative to do? How long will our votes be wasted?
So by boycotting McCain, you virtually guarantee a Dem in the White House, meaning the next several appointments to the Supreme Court will be liberal — is that really what you want?
Do you really think McQueeg would appoint conservative judges? I know he promised he would, but promises are like wishes...if they were butterflies I could fly to the moon.
Whether McCain does or not is certainly up for debate — but the odds are zero with a Dem in the White House, or do you disagree with that?
He's skipped something like 90% of his Senate votes for the past two years, so I effectively have only one Senator now. He says that his one vote would not have made the difference, so I am compelled to take his attitude and declare that my one no-vote here in AZ won't have any affect on his chances.
Thanx for your response. You and I disagree on this one, but I understand and respect your position.
Since I’m in Texas, I freely admit you know McCain better than I do.
I expect to take a lot of heat in the months to come, both from people who know me and people who don’t.
Maybe, but you’re not the only conservative who feels that way.
I guess my feeling is its better to have a Republican with questionable conservative credentials in the White House than a liberal Democrat, but I understand not all conservatives agree with me.
There is a spectrum of views, from Michael Moore to Pat Buchanan, and we each, as individuals, must make our best judgement call as to how far down that spectrum we are willing to take our vote.
This one man's opinion is that McQueeg is too far to the left. Others will disagree, and I'm willing to disagree agreeably. You do what's in your best judgement, and I'll respect that. Sorry about the silliness about the small words, you are better than what I dished out.
No offense taken — thanx.
If Republicans are going to be stampeded by phony environmental alarms and propose terrible public policies in the name of these scams, what the hell do we need Democrats for?
fgoodwin - Looking forward to a Joe Liebermann “conservative” in 2012!
