I’m not sure it’s because they aren’t conservative enough. It’s the 20% in the middle that can go either way. Right now they’re convinced that we’re in another great depression and nobody has a job despite the low 5% unemployment rate. They were also the ones who’d tell pollsters that the economy was terrible in 2005. Oh, and they actually think that the Dems can do something about it by taking it to the eeeevil corporations and the rich.
The economy sucks right now. We never had $4.00 gallon gas. The economy sucks because of that alone, let alone the job market which is uneasy at best. People see the gas costs every day and live it. Add in the increased in costs in goods across the country we are used to taking for granted and it is big trouble.

Sadly, in our media-centric society, long, dry explanations of facts don’t sell as well to the sheep, as do short sound-bursts full of hopeless empty plattitudes.
It took CARTER to bring us Reagan, and i’m afraid that people are going to have to go through REAL PAIN, before they realize that again.
