BTW - You know wat a “revolution” is don’t you? It’s something that goes around in a circle and ends up back where it started.

When I joined FR, I was an independent. Had been so all my life. I only ‘joined’ the GOP because my state changed its primary process and I had to in order to continue voting in primaries. I’m guessing there are thousands of non-GOP members on this site.

But if you want to get rid of us, I’d think you might want to discuss that with the brass here first.

Well, the GOP certainly is taking us back to the pre Reagan Revolution days in a hurry, if that’s what you mean.

I didn’t say I wanted to get rid of you, I hope you leave of your won accord because the grass is greener on the other side.

I’m not a fan of third parties. The way you get what you want in politics is by building a large organization, creating partnerships with others, building coalitions and then attacking the party structure and leadership from within.

Starting a third party is like reinventing the wheel. The wheel is already there and it is much easier, less costly and quicker to take control of it through numbers and the force of a superior ideology.

The left did it to the dem party in the 60’s and 70’s. Use their example.

I applaud your efforts to reform the GOP from the inside to a more conservative organization. Many here are pushing that stone as well. I wish you all the luck in the world, for a conservative GOP would be FALCON’s best ally.

getting some of what they want

Which is exactly how we got into the situation we are today. We have been getting some of what we want for 7 decades. So has the Dark Side.

If we are getting SOME of what we want than, by definition, so has the Dark Side been getting SOME of they want. Just we need...SOME more liberalism/socialism/muticulturalism/moral relativism.

I'll pass.

It’s the belief that you should get all of what YOU want and others get nothing of what THEY want that has made real conservatism almost irrelevant.

You can’t threaten to hold your breath until you turn blue or to pick up your ball and walk away and have others take you seriously because eventually somneone calls you bluff and now your on the outside looking in.

You got be AT THE TABLE to make a play. Getting yourself kicked out of the game is political suicide. Demanding you have YOUR way all the time is petulant and childish.

Adults understand this, children just continue holding their breath hoping someone will notice them. Unfortunately, FR has too many children who while maybe ideologically sound, are not only inept at politics but won’t even admit it exists, it is a game and that to win one has to play the game with a superior strategy.

Sorry, “the politics is just a game” don’t cut it with me.

I am fairly certain that the Roman Senators were wrapped up in how to maneuver the Emperor into backing their particular pet issue and clapping each other on the back for “playing the game well” right up to moment the Vandals were burning their homes and raping their daughters.

The plots of the Byzantines are studies in “how to play the game”. The descendents of the best politicians in the middle ages now bow to Mecca 5 times a day.

The Japanese military rulers went into a war that they knew they could not win, because they believed that their subordinates would see them as weak and force their way onto the high stakes table because their leaders were’nt “playing the game right”. The common people throughout the Pacific Rim and every major city in Japan paid the price for a missplayed “game”.

I could go on and on and on and on and on.

You keep playing your games and eventually we will go the way every other great society has gone — a crap hole unrecognizable from its former glory or a province of another society that has’nt grown sophisticated enough to “play games”, but understands what politics really is.

Force. Evil, at various levels of control, sometimes uncontrolled. Raw naked power, period.

The difference between our original system and all others was that we the people were to have the force. Some of the more altruistic among us would spend a few years from our otherwise productive lives to represent those with the power. The “games” that have been played in the last 70 years have turned that on its head and we are now servants of our political masters, just as much as any French Peasant or Czarist Serf. But our betters certainly play their games well, my FRiend. They have an overwhelming majority of the people in no condition at all to overturn the gaming table and do the kind of politics that needs to be done to get our freedoms, our society, and our culture returned to us.

Go ahead and play your games. I’m done aiding and abetting a slow, agonizing act of mass suicide.

I passed the excerpt you posted and the link on to a conservative friend of mine who cross-posted it across the Delphi political forums.

She said there was a lot of positive feedback, but also, most folks were of the opinion that we should concentrate our energies in one of the existing parties.

I’d be happy for us to retake the Republican party and restore its solid conservative principles.

LOL. By all means, have at it. You can take my place. I just left an opening in that department. Good luck.
