The stupid party strikes again: “The Change You Deserve”

Oh, dear Lord. The hapless Republican establishment has gone and made a public embarrassment of itself again. Can your hearts take much more of this?

Mine can’t:

Hoping to get things moving in a positive direction, House Republicans will on Wednesday begin rolling out their own policy agenda, trying to showcase their differences with Democrats on issues such as health care, the economy, energy and national security.

In a memo to be sent to Republican members today, the leadership hints at a new slogan building on the change message that has already been shown to have political resonance with a public unhappy with the nation’s direction.

It looks like Republicans will counter the Democratic push for change from the years of the Bush administration with their own pledge to deliver, drum roll please, “the change you deserve.” The first element of the party agenda developed over the past few months by the leadership and select party members will focus on family issues.

“Through our “Change You Deserve” message and through our “American Families Agenda,” House Republicans will continue our efforts to speak directly to an American public looking for leaders who will offer real solutions for the challenges they confront every day,” said the memo prepared for lawmakers.e of this?

Conservatives have spent the entire campaign season eviscerating Democrat candidates who’ve tattooed themselves with the empty “change” slogan. So what do the brain-dead strategists and p.r. market wizards of the GOP go and do?

Wrap themselves in “change.”

What about self-preservation? What about sovereignty? What about consistent adherence to constitutional principles?

Nope. We get more insipid “change.”

The crack research staff at GOP HQ somehow missed that “Change You Deserve” is the marketing slogan for Effexor, an anti-depressant.

Brilliant.

The GOP lemmings deserve everything they’re going to get in November.

I’m simply going from the link that the original poster has provided. There is no citation to the memo that I can see.

From the link provided by the original poster. First grey box, fourth paragraph.

“Through our “Change You Deserve” message and through our “American Families Agenda,” House Republicans will continue our efforts to speak directly to an American public looking for leaders who will offer real solutions for the challenges they confront every day,” said the memo prepared for lawmakers.

Oh, I see. Never mind, I forgot that I must base my conclusions one one (partial?) sentence. Please accept my abject apology.

How completely and utterly stupid, who is advising them, Carville? I really can’t find the words to show my complete disgust with such juvenile and pointless behavior....unless the point is to anger conservatives even more.

I am no longer registered as a republican but I can feel extreme sadness when this kind of crap gets published. I feel like I am standing on a cliff watching a train speed toward the bridge that is out. The neighbors (rank and file) are screaming stop the train, but the conductor (RNC) is whistling at the throttle as he piles on more steam. Gonna be a HUGE train wreck come November.

The GOP needs to go the way of the Whigs. Frankly, the members that aren’t former Democrat party members (who oddly seem to be absent in leadership positions) have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. The absolutely clueless excuse for an option to the Marxists is sad in it’s pathetic attempt for relevance.

A conspiratorial person could possibly connect the dots given the fact that the party is broke, to the campaign for “comprehensive immigration reform” (AKA amnesty for the 40 million illegal, uneducated, criminal, drunk driving with no insurance, statutory raping, mexicans), that no matter how hard conservatives scream and yell against, they attempt to ram down our throats.

Anyone who accuses Malkin of “BS” has a reading comprehension problem And a few other problems to go along with it.

"Reading comprehension problem?" ROTFLMAO

Did she transmit the memo directly through your forehead?

Or, as Kent suggests, you just have to feel that you know what it contains?

A couple of questions would have been more appropriate than my last post, so if I may:

How much of Malkin have you read? Only a little? Many of her articles? Every one that was presented to you?

What is your opinion of her writings in general?

What is your opinion of her as a person?

Your questions are completely irrelevant. Suffice it to say, Malkin is an excellent writer and this is a piss-poor effort on her part.

What I have read, I have liked.

So my best guess is that: Memos are generally very private and usually considered confidential. Thus further documentation expose her source, probably not desirable.

The Republicans use change also. Not just the rats. I thought the “Contract with America” was all about change. Changing the welfare system, etc.

Isn’t the point that the “change” thing is worn out?

BO has used it to the point that it means nothing.

To rally conservatives, you have to sell conservatism. “Change” is only a buzzword.

I'll just sit here and watch you argue with the voices in your head some more, then, shall I...?

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.
