Unlike East Berlin, there's nothing stopping any of the people in this article from crossing the border legally to be with one another. True. Still doesn't justify the 'electrified fence' comment.

Still doesn't justify the 'electrified fence' comment. The only problem I have with an electrified fence is paying the cost of the electricity. That's why I prefer using landmines instead, they are a one-time fixed cost.
