Back in the old days they would have kept that owl as a mascot — helluva lot smarter than a raven.
Actually, ravens are a helluva lot smarter than owls. In fact, some ornithologists consider them to be the smartest of all birds (or at least competitive with parrots). But unlike parrots, ravens are very difficult to domesticate. They seem to have an unbreakable "wild streak" that you have to appreciate. Just don't stand under one.
