“The rescuer found a 3 months old baby under her body...a mobilephone message——’Dear baby, if you can survive, remember that I love you’”.

When I read this I burst into tears. As I am writing this I am crying again. Chinese people, remember whatever our leaders say, we are all human beings, and we all love our children. The greatest tragedy of this disaster is that so many Chinese have only one child, and so many schools were destroyed. Perhaps some who have lost a child will be able to love some of the orphans who have survived and make a new family.

A piece of my family history. My husband, now deceased, fought in the Korean War. He would never talk about it. Finally because he suffered PTSD and was alcoholic, he entered therapy. Our oldest son has dark, slightly Asian looks as my husband was 16th American Indian, and I have Mongolian Tartar from my German background. One day in a therapy session my husband burst into tears and cried “I killed someone’s son, I killed someone’s son.” He cried and screamed for more than an hour. He had bayonetted a young Chinese Communist soldier in hand to hand combat. Our 14 year old son reminded him of this terrible experience and his guilt.

I hope this kind of people to people exchange will make it possible that there is never a war between America and China and as the two potentially greatest countries in the world we can work together to make it a more peaceful world with no more wars, ever.

Sorry for your husband.War always brings tragedy.Chinese have suffered from war for thousands of years,so we hate war more than anyone else.Fortunately nowadays we have throw away the unnecessary precaution against more country and focus on construction of economy, which has made our life better and better.

This quake is so terrible that all chinese people's heart are broken. Pics and news are broadcasted on tv,radio, and internet every seconds, the more we see,the more we tear. There are much more pics and stories than the ones posted here in this thread. Almost every hospital are full of blood donor even when the blood bank are all filled.Every company and individual are giving donation to save the victims. Happily to know there are also plans being made to take care of the orphans and many people are most willingly to adopt them.

We really appreciate those who showed sympathy which will make us feel better.Like you,Mrs.gleeaikin, you are surely our friend, thank you.

May the peace always last.

When I saw this news about this mother the tears also ran out of my eyes, with even a piece of control. She protected her chind with her slim shoulder but powerful mother love. However the world changed, the love from our mothers will never changed.

We are American or Chinese, above all we are are human beings, all nursed by our common mother, the Earth, a planet planet. She would also slump into deep grief if we bayonetted each other in the batterfield.

Here to restate your words: I hope there is never a war between America and China and as the two potentially greatest countries in the world we can work together to make it a more peaceful world with no more wars, ever.
