An earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale has hit China's Sichuan province. The tremor was felt across the entire region - shaking buildings in the capital, Beijing, as well as the Thai capital, Bangkok, and Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. US Geological Survey said the quake struck 57 miles north-west of the city of Chengdu at 2.29pm local time (6.28am GMT).
Some 10 million people live in Chengdu.
Well, I can visit FoxNews now without any special “tools”... The first article is China Quake Toll Climbs... strange...
I agree with you ..
It’s me who posted that article and pointer to this website in the chinese website.
don’t be pananoi, quite a part of Chinese are also pro-democracy.. including me.. but just we don’t know how to do it. personally , i sincerely hope we can elect our own president.. but how ?
FoxNew is also OK now.
It always changes.
I remembered that BBC was forbidden, but today I tried BBC,CNN,AOL,MSNBC,FoxNews, they are all ok now.
Maybe it’s for the Olympic Games
Every pro-democracy person on this blog please look at the newly registered people today and the number of hits in the thread. The chicom bots are running rampant today.Yes I feel sad for innocent lives lost but why are they on a conservative
I’ll say it louder, only to help you hear it this time.
RADAR.
Not at all. Surprising more Chinese don't post here.
I love veiled threats about the CCP. They are not the only ones that can shut things down. ;)
Fox News is one of my bookmarked sites. It is the best of the American news network. I also have Fox Sports bookmarked, too.
It’s sad that your threads on chinese forums get deleted. It’s even more sad that you and your friends who came here because of information that Americans are praying for you get attacked here.
Free Republic and its members prayers were mentioned on a chinese forum. Someone posted a link earlier. I think thats the entire reason were noticing an influx of chinese today. Though I share your apprehension of the chicoms, I sincerely doubt that this is a part of a plot given what many of these newbies are saying about their country.
Know more about US plz. The US people can freely critisize their presidents and even burn their national flags in front of White house. so why cant they critisize a county far far away from them?especially the county is treating them as enemies for half a century?
Definitely no chinese dare to even speak a word against his government in the Tiananmen Square.
THANK YOU.Most Americans are nice! YES,I AGREE WITH YOU.WE CHINESE ARE FREE NOW,BUT THANKS ALL THE SAME.
Actually, it's in the manual of Effective Agency Communicatios.
1) Start with derisive, satirical, or mocking comments. If your target does not comply, proceed to step 2.
3) Issue informal, plausibly deniable warning by a non-involved and non-aware third party. If your target is still noncompliant, proceed to step 3.
3) Begin altering personal information of target at banking, government, and vendor level. Make the financial life of your target more difficult. If target still does not comply, proceed to step 4.
4) Step four is your final, target-neutralizing option. There are three recommendations: 1) Have narcotics placed on target's vehicle and order a informed traffic stop, or 2) Order a Predator to accidently launch a Hellfire, or 3) Order a plausibly deniable assassination.
My deepest sympathies for the people suffering from this disaster. For several years I have been studying a specific technology for low cost, energy efficient housing which can provide unusually good protection from hurricanes and earthquakes, as well as being less heavy than concrete and stone in case of disaster.
The technology in question is call Straw Bale Home Construction. There is a lot of material on the internet about this. Just Google, straw bale construction, straw bale homes, international straw bale homes registry, and similar. In June of 2006 I visited a one bedroom strawbale home near Pensacola Florida which had survived Hurricane Ivan without any damage while one foot plus trees had blown down within 100 years. I hear there is good earthquake news from California regarding strawbale homes there. One can use wheat straw, barley straw, rye straw, and of special interest in China, rice straw.
I would love to be able to set up a meeting with appropriate officials in the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC, to show them the exhibits and photos I have developed, for possible introduction on a large scale in China. There is the potential to provide low cost housing, earthquake resistant housing, and also save on the polution resulting from burning large quantities of waste straw.
Thanks. I am praying for the victims. I wish it didn't happen.
This is a seriously intriguing thread. I’ve been checking in once in a while and can’t help but notice the almost sci-fi “First Contact” elements of various postings.
Hey, you .cn posters, welcome aboard!
It is good to see that the Chinese people are no longer simply historical victims, but authors of their own lives(secret agents excepted!).
Man, didn't you ever read Three Little Pigs?
The Bad Old Wolf's gonna be eating some bacon.

Straw Bale Construction is the FUTURE. It is very strong and it is not a THATCHED HUT as you would see on Gillian’s Island.
” Ive been checking in once in a while and cant help but notice the almost sci-fi First Contact elements of various postings.”
Excellent way to describe it.
:P Sorry, I just can’t stop laughing when you said there was a plot or something. The thing is, I don’t have too many opportunities to truly communicate with westerners. And after I posted something on Last.FM stating my perspectives about the relationship between Tibet and China, I was “accused of” “Chinese propagandist” who was trying to manipulating them. I was even questioned whether I got paid for posting there. The exact same thing happened to most Chinese I ran into. And the first day I came here, similar thing occurred. So I’m just curious why your opinions towards Chinese are so surprisingly coincident. Well, personally, I think it’s mainly because we do not communicate enough.
