McCain and La Raza/The Race: A “serious lapse of judgment”
Michelle Malkin.com ^ | 05/11/2008 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 05/11/2008 10:55:24 PM PDT by KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle

The open-borders media has been AWOL on John McCain’s decision to speak to the radical racialist group, La Raza/The Race in July. He has been allowed to skate on the issue in several recent sit-down interviews. Many of the same pundits who blasted Barack Obama for his ties to the radical racialist Jeremiah Wright have nothing to say about McCain’s longtime association with the shamnesty-pushing, sovereignty-undermining, publicly-subsidized shakedown artists of La Raza/The Race.

Not everyone’s looking the other way. Editorial page editor Colin McNickle at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review warned today:

McCain had made significant progress in reaching out to conservatives over the last month or so. But his La Raza embrace is a serious lapse of judgment, one of a number of lapses that, if the primaries are a valid indicator, could lead to a full quarter of the Republican electorate staying home on Nov. 4.

Guess McCain’s counting on all his left-wing global warming fear-mongering friends to make up the difference.

Uh gee, you failed to notice that the McCain-Kennedy pro amnesty bill failed last spring. You also didn’t notice how many cities and states are stepping up to get the problem out of their communities before they are sucked dry? Did you notice how Elliot Spitzer and Hillary got a thrashing.? Where have you been?

Why don’t you show proof that you have been paying attention?

Geez.

Nationwide opinion polls routinely place the number of Americans who regard illegal immigration and/or porous borders between the U.S. and Mexico as a serious problem at a level between 80% and 89%, depending.

Even allowing for a margin of error (/sarc)---them's mighty significant numbers.

Ummm... try reading publications from other-than-commie-rags.

Amnesty is not popular—at least not with American citizens.

If you think the WOT can be separated from amnesty for illegals, then you should buy a clue. Or a vowel. Or something...because at least if you buy something you would be helping the economy and not just wasting oxygen.

You didn’t notice how many cities and states are stepping up to get the problem out of their communities before they are sucked dry?

LEGISLATON JUST PASSED IN ARIZONA--JUAN'S HOME STATE

Fed up with the devastating effect of illegal immigration, Arizona has enacted the nation’s toughest laws to curb the problem and evidently its working. State legislators have passed laws barring illegal immigrants from receiving government services, posting bail for serious crimes and winning punitive damages in lawsuits.

This year a new law makes it illegal for businesses to hire undocumented workers and those that do can be shut down.

The state legislator who sponsored the work bill, Representative Russell Pearce, says the law’s undeniably positive effects include smaller class sizes, shorter emergency room waits and an overall huge savings to taxpayers. Studies revealed that illegal immigration cost Arizona taxpayers over $2 billion annually, not including the toll of crime and destruction.

It turns out that enough illegal immigrants have either fled the US or been deported that officials in the Mexican state of Sonora, which shares an extensive border with Arizona, have complained that too many of their fellow countrymen have returned. They miss the remittances sent from the U.S. as well as smaller class sizes in local schools.

Arizona is the only state requiring proof of citizenship to register..... more than 38,000 voter registration applications have been thrown out since 2004. More than 70% from people came from people who stated under oath that they were born in the United States.....

Democrats criticized requirements to include immigration status. “This is having a devastating effect on voter registration in Latino communities because so many citizens simply don’t have a passport or original birth certificate,” said a liberal advocacy group working to sign up new voters in Arizona.

But Arizona officials say the measure is broadly popular..... “The voters of Arizona feel strongly about proof of citizenship when registering to vote as a basic eligibility requirement,” said the secretary of state, Jan Brewer, testifying before Congress in March.

I agree with much of what you said, except that the US can expect a nuclear strike.

Islam is winning the battle within the US right now. A nuke would steel public opinion against them.

I don’t see this scenario happening unless the Islamo-facists begin to lose ground here in the USA.

And I don’t see that in either a Republican or Democrat administration.
