The content of the magazine produced by Barack Obama's pastor reveals the content of his character.
To the question of the moment--What did Barack Obama know and when did he know it?--I answer, Obama knew everything, and he's known it for ages. Far from succumbing to surprise and shock after Jeremiah Wright's disastrous performance at the National Press Club, Barack Obama must have long been aware of his pastor's political radicalism. A careful reading of nearly a year's worth of Trumpet Newsmagazine, Wright's glossy national "lifestyle magazine for the socially conscious," makes it next to impossible to conclude otherwise.
Wright founded Trumpet Newsmagazine in 1982 as a "church newspaper"--primarily for his own congregation, one gathers--to "preach a message of social justice to those who might not hear it in worship service." So Obama's presence at sermons is not the only measure of his knowledge of Wright's views. Glance through even a single issue of Trumpet, and Wright's radical politics are everywhere--in the pictures, the headlines, the highlighted quotations, and above all in the articles themselves. It seems inconceivable that, in 20 years, Obama would never have picked up a copy of Trumpet. In fact, Obama himself graced the cover at least once (although efforts to obtain that issue from the publisher or Obama's interview with the magazine from his campaign were unsuccessful).
...There can be no mistaking it. What did Barack Obama know and when did he know it? Everything. Always.

God blankety blank BLESS America, McCain 2008.

The sad aspect of all of this is that Liberal Democrats don’t give a heck about all of this. They think that Obama is the Messiah and there is not stopping them.
Maybe because of the same reason most Catholics haven't left the Church because of pedophiles.
Maybe because most of us are adult enough to take the good and ignore the bad.
There are people in my family I wouldn't trot out on the campaign trail. Doesn't mean I will disown them.
Grow up.
This is not an enormous church where "my parish is o.k."
This is the church where Obama sat for 20 years, listening to this awful vitriol and America-hating, racist rhetoric. He chose this church.
This is not his family in any sense of the word.
You choose your preacher, you don't choose your family.
Moreover, Obama most likely chose this church to give himself street cred, because he isn't any more black than he is white, and he's not African-American, he's the child of a Kenyan Marxist. So he had to go to extremes to break into politics. And this church is extreme. It could only survive in the hothouse world of Southside Chicago politics.
This is not a typical black church -- I've been to lots of them, whether Pentecostal Holiness, A.M.E., or Baptist. This "black value system" and "reject middleclassness" and all the rest of the mindless racist rhetoric is way out in left field.
Uh, the Church does not teach nor promote pedophilia
And I am not Catholic
I think if we could get that issue of Trumpet with Obama on the front cover, it would really “enlighten” people as to who Obama really is.
It’s funny we were discussing doctrine at church today, and someone mentioned that they had listened to someone preach and knew immediately he had some doctrinal problems. This led us to a discussion of how little time it takes to pick up on a church that has this kind of problem.
We came to the conclusion it takes one to two sermons, max. Other things such as character or programs, you can be fooled on, but bad dogma you pick up on the first sermon.
I don’t for a minute believe Obama didn’t know what Wright was. He had to, and he was ok with it.
Oh, we can stop them...if everyone who calls themselves conservative bands together and fights. Think that can happen?
That's it exactly. As an ambitious and intelligent young man, Obama realized he could ride this Chicago black community's hatred of whites into a seat in first the Illinois State Senate and then into a seat in the U.S. Senate, but I doubt if in his wildest dreams he ever thought he might have a chance at the Presidency of the United States.
However, he soon became aware that his charisma worked on not only blacks but also on some whites and that he just might gain the presidency if only he could reinvent himself as a racial healer and a uniter. Now, this man who rode into town on the "Hate Whitey, God Damn America" bus will become president if only he can convince enough voters that a man's record means nothing and they should only believe what he tells them. Somehow, I just don't think the number of feeble minded voters in this country is, as yet, sufficient for him to pull it off.
But what do I know. I'm the guy who said the American people would never elect a draft dodging, pot smoking, hick from Arkansas.
Funny, Oprah had no problem casting aside Wright in 1986 after attending the church for two years after recognizing at the very least that the rhetoric spewing from that pulpit would hurt her or her image. Obama’s apparently a little slow on the uptake. Great quality for a commander in chief.
This is all well and fine. Most of this has been known of BHO. The real issue is will McCain have the courage to use it. Based on how he responded in North Carolina regarding the North Carolina GOP ad, my bet in Vegas is he won’t. It is not respectable enough for McCain. Too bad we have a weak nominee given to us by a bunch of independents and moderate democrats.
I Agree with you on that.
Not to mention that in most Catholic churches pedophilia does not take place, and if it does, no one seems to know about it, until some child reports it.. The preacher (priest) doesn't spew the nasty stuff from the pulpit! Unlike J. Wright who dishes out his own special crappola from the pulpit.
Well, I am, and people like him REALLY ought to ask why most parents let their children attend public schools, since they’re FORTY times more likely to be molested in THAT setting.
But then that wouldn’t be Catholic bashing.
Wow....go take another bong hit. Are you sure you posted to the right person??
Thanks, you ought to see the next post (#14) oooof.
