From what I’ve heard, the Syrian economy would collsapse over time if Syria doesn’t have a kleptocratic puppet government in Lebanon. It’s too bad the mandate to disarm Hezbollah hasn’t shown any teeth.

The way things work in the Middle East, the Syrian bloodsucking operation of corruption has been leeching off Lebanon for a long time. To what extent now I can’t say.

But there’s no mandate to disarm Hezzbully. The UN is there to discourage arming but is as I understand it totally ineffective and Syria has already restocked the south with plenty of new missiles.

It’s absolutely terrible that the army has publicly backed down to Hezzbully.
Now those thugs will only work faster to take control over the country. They are demanding veto power over everything.

How long before they just demand control entirely?

The Lebanese Army just stabbed its own people in the back. They should make some formal requests for military aid. Crazy? Maybe but still this is really bad.
