When is he going to make a serious effort to reach out to conservatives? How about promising to appoint strict constructionist judges? How about re-assurances on gun ownership rights? What about reducing the out-of-control spending of this administation? Do you not read the news?
Re: Judges- McCain THIS WEEK promised to appoint justices like Roberts and Alito.
Re: 2nd Amendment- McCain's own website: " John McCain believes that the right of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms is a fundamental, individual Constitutional right. We have a responsibility to ensure that criminals who violate the law are prosecuted to the fullest, rather than restricting the rights of law abiding citizens. Gun control is a proven failure in fighting crime. Law abiding citizens should not be asked to give up their rights because of criminals--criminals who ignore gun control laws anyway."
Re: Federal Spending- John McCain has not been talking about reducing federal spending? Where have you been? "John McCain is one of five senators to reject earmarks entirely, part of his long-standing view that such measures prompt needless spending."

If elected Clinton or Obama would not be the head of the Conservative movement. If elected, John McCain would be. I don't agree. The Conservative movement is bigger than the GOP candidate for president.
Other than Reagan, have we EVER had a Republican president as head of the conservative movement?

“thank you for speaking the truth very succinctly.”
Sometimes tact and politeness are called for. This is not one of those times....thank you for your kind words.

"Then dont complain."Ah, a sour note from the "we have to vote for McCain or it's the end of the world as we know it" FR chorus.
You can do what you want. I'm all through with the "least worse" method of voting.

Oh I quite agree, unless you actually want to get anything Conservative accomplished.. If so, you're out of luck.

Pease name for me the Republican before McCain that would have agreed to shut down the prison at Gitmo, grant Geneva Convention status to the terrorists, stop water boarding them, and grant them access to our courts.
In answer to your question, no. And it's quite evident. When we don't have a conservative in there, we pay for it dearly.

No argument from me. All I am saying McCain is the Republicans nominee? I wish there was a Conservative nominee, but there isn’t. It isn’t McCains fault. If Conservatives feel so strongly about having a nominee, we should form our own political party.
The Republicans are not the party of Conservatives. Republicans are what the Democrats use to be. Democrats are now Marxists. Conservatives are the only ones who didn’t go with the leftward shift, thank god.
However, now we are on an island and instead of doing something, we are taking our ball and going home.

It’s not about the truth, it’s about immigration and a 3rd party.

“If Mccain grabbed Hillary, wouldn't she have to change party affiliation?”
The way the constitution is written, there is no requirement that the VP be of the same party as the president. The only requirement is that the VP get more electoral votes than other VP candidates.
The whole “party” thing is outside the constitution, it's just a structure we have accepted and are used to.
Someone could run as VP, as an independent, and win, and serve as VP no matter who the president is.

I personally think McCain should choose a Hispanic running mate to once and for all bring the Hispanic vote home to the GOP.Do you realize how racist you sound? What, Hispanics will only vote for one of their own?

Since “Hispanic” is not a race, there is nothing racist about it.

If that’s the case I’d say it’s more likely McCain picking Liebermann than Hillary.
To: Blue Highway
I’ve thought McCain/Lieberman too, for a while.
Apparently (at least so far) I was wrong about Gore/Kerry 08.

I'm starting to feel like John Kerry...flip flopping all over the place. One thing is for sure We The People are screwed no matter who enters The White House.
