Why, to nail down the VP slot, of course.
She will present it as the democrats having no other choice if they want to win.
It is clearly demonstrated that Obama is not going to prevail without the white middle class, which he has lost, and that she can deliver that bloc.
Everyone had best take off the tinfoil, put sown the pipe and stop dreaming that this cannot happen.
I believe that it is going to happen.
And it spells defeat for McCain. Period.
The bigger problem is that he is going to suck up all of the RNC cash that would otherwise go to lower tier candidates while McCain tilts at the windmill of “independents and moderates.”
I think you're using a more classic representation of what the VP can often bring as an attraction by virtue of his or her presence on the ticket. Much of Hillary's constituency was actually in her camp, however, by "virtue" of their aversion to BHO and all that he represents, which Hillary has been kind enough to see that we would come to learn about him because of her growingly-perceived needs and by the extra time afforded through Operation Chaos.
In short, with BHO at the top of the ticket, other than die-hards who'll vote straight dhim no matter what, so-called blue-collar white workers (non egg-head, non-blacks, as the Forehead was quick to call them) will not become--in significant numbers--enamored of a BHO-topped ticket by there being a crusty, Huma-handled pantsuit on the bottom.
BHO remains the champion of only 25% of the nation's electorate, a figure brought to only 38% after adding Hillary's constituency, the same figure whether she's at the top of the ticket or not.
