Bride hopes Jenna's day doesn't interfere with hers

Groom, many guests of one wedding will be on call for another - that of the president's daughter

Saturday, May 10, 2008

WEST — Nora Bartosh has been waiting for her wedding, scheduled for today, for the past six years. Now, the 34-year-old West drugstore clerk is worried that a president's daughter could steal her groom and thus her special day.

The groom, all eight groomsmen and about 150 of the guests work in McLennan County law enforcement. That leaves Bartosh hoping that everything goes smoothly in and around President Bush's Crawford-area ranch today as first daughter Jenna says her vows. If it doesn't, most of Bartosh's wedding party in the town about 18 miles north of Waco could be called out on business.

The groom has been "relaxed and calm about it," she said. "I'm the one freaking out. I am worried. I'm a lot worried."

And there's reason to do so.

"Whenever the Secret Service request our assistance, we are there," said Chief Deputy Randy Plemons of the McLennan County sheriff's department, who was invited to Bartosh's wedding. "So we always have enough staff on hand. Everybody's on call, of course."

But Bartosh isn't rescheduling. Let Jenna Bush do the rescheduling, she joked.

I think it reflects well on Jenna, that is that she is not pretentious. Besides, the heat in Texas keeps most of the crybaby Washington press corps away.

"The groom is one of the last things on their list to choose. Just look at all of the four inch thick bride magazines and try to find any groom magazines."

What a cruel insensitive man President Bush must be to allow his adult daughter to get married and hold a wedding. Is there no end to this man's schemes to oppress the masses?

Makes the story even more insane. Like Jenna Bush was suppose to say to herself when picking her wedding date, "Let's see...who else in and around Crawford might be planning their wedding that day and do they have any relationship to law enforcement."

Even IF Jenna Bush checked on that through local records, there wouldn't have been any because it's her friggin' church ceremony. The press has gone completely crazy.

They are going to start strapping C4 onto their backs and blow themselves up in malls.

Today is my granddaughter’s birthday. She thinks it is ‘cool’ that Jenna is getting married on her birthday!

"Yeah, right. Who the heck schedules their wedding six YEARS in"

The whiner is already married. She eloped in 2002. Now all of a sudden she wants a big wedding. This woman is a moron.

I just posted this on their website:

What an astonishingly petty article to write. Your complaint is with Ms. Bush's father not her. Your animus is against her father, fine. But to extend that disdain to his children is just beneath contempt. As was asked of someone else who smeared others for political gain: "Have you no shame?"

If you are, as you claim to be, a truly "compassionate" and "tolerant" newspaper, try showing some evidence of this claim and start practicing what you preach.

Well, Mother’s Day does ‘move’, but even a guy would not forget his own birthday ——— would he?

While walking through an Austin area HEB recently, I was asked if I would like a subscription to the Statesman. I answered instinctively, “I wouldn’t wipe my a$$ with that liberal rag!” I wish I could get a photo of the looks on the faces of all those within earshot; they were priceless.
