Having seen the effects of "Mommy" deploying, and having to live with the aftermath, and indeed, avoiding some of it, because I'm not the baby's daddy... Some observations.

Deploying rocks or sucks, depending on the mindset. The kids really, really need a plan. And even if you're a grumpy old white man.... your friend on the other side of the world can consume your thoughts.

Toward the end, I wanted her back so that the youngest didn't go nutz.

Mommy made it home safe, the kid isn't THAT nutz, and there's a Nobel Prize for the older kid, as she pursues her dream of being a brain surgeon.

Hell, I just used the older kid as a NOC primary. She picked it up in about a month. Smart kid.

While I support all of our military in the job that they do.. I really don’t like women in combat.. women need to be with their children.. children need both parents indeed..but I just can’t get behind women in the military..

I hope kids enjoy and it helps them out with deployment issues as well....
