Now what would make a parent shy away from 100% chance of surviving an experience with some of the worst occurrences that exist? And the left's answer is that the safety and well being of people IS NOT a factor in their agenda.

That abstinence graphic with the fingers almost touching has to be one of the most unintentionally funny things I have ever seen.
Abstinence “cuz only touching each-others fingers is allowed, and only tentatively!”.
And people wonder why Conservatism isn't a more attractive ideology to young people. Sheesh!

Fact is, if everyone followed the Judeo/Christian advice on sex, all venerial diseases would be eliminated from Earth on one generation.

Your post bears a striking resemblance to ‘Rat/Planned Barrenhood talking points.

Seems the article in question ended by talking about the House Appropriations Committee. Apparently they thought it was political enough to get politicians involved.

I oppose bringing the government into it. Making it a political issue WILL turn off a lot of people. Best we can do is be advocates and role models.

Should read
"Only Abstinence Offers 100 Percent Guarantee for Safe Sex".
You can educate the kids about abstinence all day long, but some of them are still going to do it. That's just fact, and people who pretend it's not going to happen are silly.

I actually agree entirely — and I fully understand that, by “role modeling”, you meant role modeling a moral Godly life.
I just think the idea of “role modeling” abstainance is mildly amusing. First of all, its a little like proving a negative ... just as I’m currently role-modeling abstainance (as my wife isn’t here for me to counter-role-model with), I’m also role modeling not participating in terrorist activity, not doing drugs, and not shooting people randomly.
Secondly, how, exactly, do you role model abstaining from something that, if you were to do it, you wouldn’t do it in front of anyone? The mind boggles.
Anyway — I’m married. I abjectly refuse to role model abstainance. :)

And as long as young people see Conservatism as being an advocate of a strong National Defense, lower taxes, less government regulation, liberty, and a firm personal morality (as opposed to a government enforced morality) the trend will continue over to our side (although it hasn't tipped 50% as of yet).
When and if they perceive us to be a bunch of nanny State-ists with a big bugaboo about sex that same trend will decline.
