The question we need to ask is when did the USA lose its way.
We are the greatest country on earth. We have done so much and are capable of doing so much more. When did the words “Cant” and “Dont” enter into our minds.
It used to be that if you told an American they couldnt do something, we would do it just to prove it can be done.
We lost our way, and I fear that we keep straying away from the path that our Founding Fathers cut for us.

“The question we need to ask is when did the USA lose its way.”

What difference does it make WHEN the US lost its way — the sad reality is that it did. We started to lose it when we allowed everybody and his dog to come here, regardless whether or not they would fit in our society or make a positive contribution to it.

Back in the fifties, the following was required of any immigrant:
(1) A complete background check to search for any connection that the applicant may have had with naziism and/or communism. (Remember, this was during the Cold War)
(2) An interview with someone at the US Consulate to find out the applicant’s proficiency in English and evaluation of applicant’s willingness to adapt to US society.
(3) A medical exam that included a blood analysis, X-ray and psychological evaluation. (No nut cases, no one with sexually transmittable deseases or TBC were allowed in)
(4) Those who were better educated or possessed desired skills were more readily admitted than those with little education or skills.
(5) Every immigrant was required to have a sponsor, whether it was an individual, family, or church group. The sponsor was responsible for the immigrant for the first three years of his stay.
(6) Immigrants had to report within a month upon arrival to receive their “green card” and selective service card. Once a year the immigrant had to report to any post office to show that the info on his green card was up to date. Male immigrants above 18 were well aware that at any time Uncle Sam could grab their asses and send them to basic training.

Do you now understand why things have gone to hell in a handbasket? We did away with discipline and instead chose PC.
