There's absolutely no point whatsoever in attempting to discern any sane or rational motivation(s) in the behavior of someone as demonstrably addled as Juan McCain. It'd be like trying to nail a fried egg to the wall, or discussing Boolean algebra with Paula Abdul. ;)

No, he just thinks that conservatives will vote for him no matter what he does that is non-conservative.

He has been running left ever since the 2000 election.

One could almost surmise that his behavior is that of a bitter person angry with Pro-life, 2nd amendment, and other groups that turned on him in the 2000 election and backed Bush.

Ever since then, he has taken every oppurtunity to stick Conservative's in the eye.

I also beleive that McCain doesn't care about the GOP or conservatives, or this country.

McCain has an obsession to be President and he will do anything to make that happen including throwing away his conservative principles, which has done on multiple occasion and quite possibly selling his soul if necessary.
