He’s sort of nuts, but I’ll vote for him. Please everyone, spare me the “vote for the liberal Republican because he is better than the dem” argument. Where has that gotten us? A government that is bigger and more intrusive than ever.

And then, please spare me the “Well thats ok in theory but “THIS YEAR” its just too important”. Y’all say that every year.

Unless he can get

Isn’t this the guy who railed against the Army allowing pagan religious practices on post? Not very libertarian at all.

Here's the problem with the Libertarian, Constitution, Conservative, etc. parties....they refuse to build from the bottom-up.

If they would build from the ground up, running people for city council, county supervisor, state representative, and on and on, perhaps they could become a real alternative to the 21st Century Whigs, ie, the GOP.

I could support something like the Constitution Party...if they actually decided to build from the bottom up.

So the schmuck wants Obama to be President?

Come on, there’s NO POINT in running when you haven’t a snowball’s chance in Hell of winning more than 2% of the vote. I understand being ticked off at the Republican Party - because I also feel that way, knowing that Barr is correct in saying that it has strayed far from our values. But handing victory to the most Left-Wing candidate in our nation’s history while we are at war is simply INSANE!!!

I know the theory...”it’ll be so bad under the Dems that Conservatism will make a huge comeback, etc., etc.” Well, guess what, there’s no certainty that this will happen - you do remember President Dole, don’t you? No? Why not, we were supposed to get rid of that hick Clinton after one term?

I don’t like the direction of the Republican Party in the last several years, and I despise McCain. But I love my country more, and will not stand by while the likes of Obama tear it to shreds.

Barr should NOT run, and I say that as someone who probably agrees with him 98% of the time on the issues and think he’d make a fantastic President. Put your ego on hold, Bob, so that we don’t have to deal with the first Muslim President and his insufferable wife. Do the troops in Iraq a favor and stay off the ballot - because by being on it you’ll make their entire mission and the deaths of 4,000 of our finest worthless.

The Libertarian party is pro-abortion, pro-drug, etc., etc..
Not at all conservative.

If it was Clinton against McCain I would probably vote for Barr.
But since it will be Obama against McCain, I’m going to have to vote for McCain if he has any chance of winning my state. Obama is just too extreme.

A real conservative for change was Ronald Reagan. When he saw a crisis in his party, he worked to change the party. He didn’t give up. HE kept fighting on.

People like Pat Buchanan and Bob Barr are conservatives who walk out when their brand of orthodoxy isn’t followed 100%.

I have plenty of problems with the RINOs...and my volunteer time and monies aren’t going to the party. Instead, I’m giving for electable conservative Republicans.

Barr would do well to do that, too. IMO.

Otherwise the electable conservatives will be defeated by invigorated Democrat operatives.

You people in New York, Illinois, California, Maryland, Vermont, DC, and Taxachussetts, by all means cast a protest ballot for Bob Barr. Those of us in red and purple states regrettably need to act like adults and vote for McCain.

Maybe those of us who live in dark blue states should consider voting for Bob Barr?

After all, McCain has no chance of winning in these places, this could be an opportunity to send "a protest vote."
