True. When I arrived at UPT (pilot training, USAF style) one of the first forms we filled out was a list of relatives in the grade of O-6 or GS-15 and above.
One guy in my class had a dad who was a retired USAF Colonel fighter pilot. He hooked so many rides (including one where he entered the overhead pattern in the WRONG direction) that anyone else would have been gone. He finally quit on his own.
Another guy I worked with a few years later crashed 1 plane and nearly crashed another. His granddad was a former Army Chief of Staff.
