DNC Insiders' Theme Song Tonight: "Ding, Dong, the Witch is dead, the Wicked Witch....
Friends and Fiends on Capitol Hill | MB26

Posted on 05/07/2008 7:54:28 PM PDT by MindBender26

Having dinner on the Hill with heavy hitter RNC friends in DC tonight. Two top DNC types walked in and we all broke out into a rather loud but decidedly off-key chorus of “Ding, Dong, the Witch is dead. The Wicked Witch is dead….”

The Dems quickly joined us in song. (There is no love lost between the Hildabest and many DC Dems.)

During after dinner cordials, one of the DNC realists pronounced the verdict on any possible remainder of a Hillary campaign. He said “For Hillary to continue to run is the most Un-Democratic thing she can do. We like to pride ourselves on being a party of the people, unlike you Republican Wall Street fat cats.” (Relax, the last half of that sentence was said in the required amount of jest.)

“The Public has an expectation that we Democrats will always follow the will of the people. The people have spoken… and they aren’t calling out to Hillary.”

“From 11:30 last night on, the harder she tries to win the Democratic nomination, the less she appeals to those of us who hold our beliefs strongly. In other words, after last night, the harder she tries, the more people she is going to pi** off, the more votes she will lose and some of these are people who smart Democrats don’t want to pi** off!”

More proof that:

1) It’s over 2) Hillary has very few friends in Washington (She has some people who love her, but very few who “like” her, and you can’t run a campaign for Prez when people don’t like you!

3) When she quits, there will be very little pity for “poor Hillary.” She made her bed… but of course she rarely sleeps in it.

It's just as well that (barring a miracle) Hillary won't be the nominee. They always present a movie about the nominee at the convention, and Margaret Hamilton is no longer available to play Hillary.

During the New Deal and for many years afterwards, the Democrats' theme song was "Happy Days are Here Again." The Clintons changed that to "Don't Stop Thinking about Tomorrow." For Obama maybe a suitable theme song would be "Puppy Love."

it will be an interesting moment when Hillary realizes that she’s just another woman who slept with Bill Clinton for nothing..."

ROFL!! But who knows whether she ever actually slept with him, or has done so in the past 30 odd years???

During her speech last night (after Indiana victory), Bubba was in the background and I swear he was on the verge of crying.

Geez, Hillary gave how many years of her life to Bill Clinton, all for the dream of her own political career? And her running for Senate in 2000 was just to set her up to run for president someday.

I wonder if they will still be together as a couple after this. we’ll see.

Well, Thomas is a conservative Republican. Obama is a liberal Democrat. Blacks are supposed to be liberal to be authentic.

Does anybody really think that Hillary would be a front runner for 2012 after what has happened in this campaign?

“I think the Superdelegates were created to insulate the party from rat candidates’ late-breaking scandals.”

I’ve read that the superdelegates were put in place in the event ‘the people’ chose a radical candidate that would stand no chance in the general. Of course, since that went into effect, the Dems’ definition of ‘radical’ has changed, and so have the superdelgates, .

She might not be the front runner, but would you put it past her for a second?

She’s lost this election, but she’ll continue running so as to wreck Obama’s chances in 2008.

Indeed. The reality is that Hillary -- like her or not -- is working hard to defeat Obama and will continue to. Conservatives should aid her in doing so.

“She’s not dead yet. She’s lost this election, but she’ll continue running so as to wreck Obama’s chances in 2008. That way she’ll be free to run again in 2012”

Aloha and thanks for the post. I agree with Hillary being a spoiled spoiler for Obama ‘08. Also agree with “rich country, strong military”.......great tag.

That sounds as appealing as a big slab of Bacalá or Lutefisk.......Even for Democrats.

And it didn't sound that way this time? No, as poor a candidate as she is, I think she'll be back all the same.

Radical = ‘(accidentally) not fully vetted’.

They didn’t even come up with the SD idea until 1984.. kinda apropos, per today’s reality being some rats are more equal than other rats.

I wouldn’t put it past her to run in 2012. I just can’t see too many Democrats being excited about her running in 2012 after what happened this year. I can’t believe she would have much support.

How many times have these Clintons fooled us?

Never again. I’d love to believe and pretend that she’s dead and gone politically, but she just isn’t.

She and Bill are evil incarnate, and she will be the nomimee. With her nuclear politics in the attack mode against Obama shortly and McDole after she’s nominated, she will probably also be the president.

Hate to say it but I know I’m right. Wish you were, but you’re not.

And if I’m wrong, I will be as happy as can be.

Here is the bigger problem for the dems. Hillary on committees, and is still in a powerful seat. They better be working on getting her defeated as soon as possible in her seat because she thrives on vengeance.

Well, I guess Chelsea is living proof that they must have slept together at least *once!* (a long, long time ago!)

Only if Bill is really her father. Chelsea looks more like Vince Foster.

Uh, you aren’t aware of the “Web Hubbell theory” of Chelsea’s conception? Or you don’t buy it? When I’ve seen the morphing photo of Web’s face with Chelsea’s face, it certainly does seem plausible.....
