Get this one. On Judge Judy, this womans daughter was killed when she and a friend of her daughters...took her friends car for a joy ride ‘ON the property’ of the friend. The friends mom was suing the woman who’s daughter was killed for $5,000 for repairs to the car!! The poor woman who’s daughter was killed, is standing there in court silently weeping. Judge Judy practically threw the friends mom out after telling her what a horrible person she was.

Question; If someone dumps/leaves their dog where it comes on my property and makes itself at home and I feed it because that needs done, am I considered its owner?

This has happened 5 times in the past 5 years and two of these dogs disappeared? and three have been run over on the highway fronting my property. I refuse to restrain another persons animal while waiting for them to return and call it back to them. These irresponsible owners need charged with something but from the leanings of this thread I am more likely to be. Where do I stand?

Ugh. People are so disgusting and heartless these days, as you can see with this thread. Sure, the dog owner is probably responsible. But would we have had a lawsuit 25 or 50 years ago? There is virtually no human decency anymore.

The last thing I’d do after I were to hit and kill a pet owner’s dog is prolong the grief. The lady on Judge Judy is reprehensible and beyond reproach. I could care less about the legal aspect. Like I said, there probably is solid legal standing for the guy who is suing. But have some sense of civility. I refuse to hypothesize and extrapolate this to a situation that isn’t at hand - this particular situation is disgusting, and I stand by that. All you “by the books” hard-liners can shove it.
