no, because many people (wrongly) think the

economy is doing badly.

Everyone is hiring in Dallas/Fort Worth. What slowdown?

the economy probably looks pretty great from where Kudlow sits. I don’t care what the economic numbers say, a lot of people are struggling with $4 gas and skyrocketing food prices right now, and denying that by pointing to esoteric numbers just makes Kudlow look out of touch. If the GOP goes with a “don’t worry, be happy” strategy this fall, they will go down in flames.

"As you know, I'm a ethanol person," he (Bush) said, explaining his belief that it can help reduce U.S. dependence on oil. "It makes sense for America to be growing energy."

Yep. Corn. Move aside Jed and Granny your texas tea is a thing of the past.

Gas prices high, dropping value of the dollar, high paying jobs being transfered overseas, “creative” mortgages coming due, ethanol production driving up the cost of food (among other things), tax and spend Democrats control Congress and maybe the President (next year), Iran, Iraq ...

Not exactly good conditions for a thriving economy.

Hey, in spite of all of this the economy still isn’t terrible shape.... yet.

Very well said. People like Kudlow and Limbaugh have nothing to worry about. They just keep flinging their pom pons around spouting numbers that don't affect the price of my propane, electricity, milk, cheese or gas.

I’ll bet that he is an “ethanol person.” LOL. Been drinking too much of it I bet.

For now, the GOP has lost its ability to inspire the population. Their anemic vision will greatly hurt them this fall. Voting will not be pleasurable this year.

High prices are not reflective of a bad economy. That’s what causes the disconnect between economists and people struggling to make ends meet. Economists think in terms of classic definitions and macro trends. We think in terms of empty wallets and running out of money before we run out of month.

“Consumer confidence” seems to be important to Economists.

Reflects American’s buying power which is taking a beating these days.

Our economy depends, at least in part, on consumers consuming.

I’m a fan of Kudlow, but he’s delusional here... Joe Six Pack does not care about the GDP or any other of these fancy economic numbers. It’s the gas, stupid.

We've had a good economy for 7 years and it didn't help the GOP. I'm afraid every generation has to get their own "Jimmah Carter" to be reminded just how bad it can get.

It doesn't get any worse than Obama, Pelosi, and Reid. What a trifecta. We will be looking for Rangel and Kennedy to save us from total Marxism. Maybe we could swim to Cuba to have a better life.

Me thinks you're closer to being right than Kudlow. Americans getting srewed to death! Everytime I go to buy gasoline or groceries or clothing or just about anything else I'm continually confronted with the lies my government keeps trying to sell me.

Depends on what you mean by “the economy.” If you mean that which the average American sees and feels when they buy food or feul, then you are the one who is wrong.

anecdotal accounts of the faltering economy bore me.

because i have a liberal democrat female friend who

has been having a bad economy all of her adult life.

she’s well off. but she prefers gloom and doom.

Why are you here promoting the liberal media lies about a faltering economy? Oh, that’s right, you hate Republicans for choosing John McCain and are trying to do everything you can to give the election to Obama.
