California State University, Fresno are investigating allegations by two students that a tenured professor threatened to bring a gun to class and start shooting.
Meanwhile, the school has suspended 64-year-old Joe Parks, who has taught education at Fresno State for 10 years.
A student said in a police report that during a discussion of a school shooting, Parks said he wished he could bring his gun to class and "shoot all of you."
Parks denies making that statement during a teacher-preparation class in February, but concedes that he tends to be controversial in his remarks. Other students in the class also say he didn't make that statement.
The two little tattlers or prevaricators should be suspended or expelled if it is true they made this up.
Two students said he said that, but others, including the professor himself, dispute it? But they went ahead and suspended him?
It’s the CSU , what can I say. He probably has a “history” of offending little minds, we’ll see.
To paraphrase Churchill - If I went to school in Fresno, I would want the teacher to shoot me.
schools teach ed-ooo-me-ka-shon? i thought that most education majors could attain a degree by simply showing up to class, playing with puppets, regurgitating the socialist rants of their professor, dressing like a hippie, and attending the protest du jour.
or -maybe times have changed.
Once they get the thought-bubble generator perfected we’re all doomed!
Parks will not go but there will be heightened caution around students mentored by federal attorneys.
The glorious leader is up to his neck in hot water over Title 9 with the Board of Trustees and will tread very lightly and quietly around the Parks issue.
Not mentioned above but Parks is African-American...
