During the heat wave in LA about 10 days ago, my local BR was nearly sold out of everything....I was shocked to find an empty store.

In my stupid little mind when I first heard the news, I envisioned loved ones tossing chopped nuts and cherrys on his coffin...
No disrespect to the man intended of course.
A B.R. treat was one of my favorite childhood memories to be sure.

Coffee and pistachio were my favorites. What a great American! He must have enjoyed his work to live so long. We all certainly enjoyed his handiwork.

During the laugh-in days they had "Here Comes the Fudge." I loved it. It left after a few years. They brought it back a couple of years ago and either the flavor changed or I did.
I think BR has great chocolate chip and I love baseball nut and strawberry shortcake, not cheesecake, shortcake.

Jamocha Almond Fudge.... alas, there are no Baskin-Robbins in my area for several years now.

Unfortunately, Irvine Robbins' son, rebelled against his father's values. In the 1980's John Robbins toured the talk show circuit and wrote a book on the glories of leading a vegan life. In the 1990's John Robbins proclaimed himself a guru of his very own religion. And even today he is a hero to a wide cast of characters from PETA people, vegetarians, Earth First folks, vegans, hemp promoters, Marxists, Progressives...
It is sad but true, even a good man can begat a bad son.
