Though I, too think BobJ is lost in the woods on this one, I suggest y’all tone it down, especially the one who’s been here a whole three months. BobJ is unquestionably a patriot, a definite conservative and an unswerving supporter of FR. Questioning his motives is equivalent to questioning the motives of somebody like Kristinn or Tonk, or Kent—though I do question why Kent keeps one of Liberace’s hands in his house, immersed in formaldehyde. Never his motives, though.

I don't know if we have all the information on this - Michelle's frequent bouts of hysteria do not lend themselves to unquestioning acceptance of her proffered take on a given subject.

Michelle, the fence is well along; and, no, Michelle, we are not going to issue drivers licenses to illegals - as Hillary and (former) NY governor, Spitzer belatedly got through their heads.

That said - If McCain can engage with a radical Hispanic group as this to discourage the members from radicalism, so much more the power to him.

To pretend that such groups and movements don't exist, or that they should be ignored, is only going to sharpen their radicalism. And very probably increase their propensity to secrecy.

Remember this: If such groups were to ally with Islamic Jihadists - as undoubtedly some in them would like to do - our national security problems, as big as they are now, would expand immensely.

Nothing to "tone down," on my part. Whether Bob J is, as you say, "a definite conservative" or no -- and that's not a call any one of here is any more qualified to make than the next one -- he posted an apologia on behalf of an openly racist group. If JimRob were to see it, he'd have it yanked in a heartbeat. None of that's even decently debatable, in the final analysis.

Called him on it; would readily do so, again; and won't be losing any sleep over it, now or at any point in the forseeable future. Post racist crap on the Free Republic boards... and you very definitely do so at your own risk. A word to the wise, for one and all, as it were.

And I'd never question your motives, neither, Kal. ;)

Sane analysis. And rare...

Michelle's frequent bouts of hysteria

Stopped right there.

Sorry... but: anyone characterizing Michelle Malkin as being prone to "frequent bouts of hysteria" simply isn't familiar enough with the woman's work, IMHO, to pass summary judgment on same.

List 'em, please.

For the most part, I responded to you so it wouldn’t be a glaring omission when I left you out.

BTW, bring some Oreos up with you the next time you pull Watchtower duty. We ran out three days ago and J’onn’s starting to get irritable.

Thanks for helping me prove my point that it is the GOPers that are trying to enforce “group think.”

Huh. He thinks he has it bad now? Guess who's slated for a dirt nap, in the upcoming Final Crisis...?

(... and, no: NOT kidding.)

Seconded!

In the interest of open discourse, I hereby note that I'm expecting a list of "hysterical" incidents where Malkin called for our nation to enact or enforce rational immigration laws. How freakish of her.

Serious question: Would you write the same thing if McCain was appearing at a KKK rally?

I’ll write-in or vote the CP but there are too
many important, local elections to stay home.”

Same here!

If someone said that McCain should go talk to the KKK for the same reason, would you call it sane analysis?

Bobster, look, we can read and we all know somethings. Fur shur if "La Raza" was invented by a Mexican then it means "The Race" ~ ain't no two ways about it.

That explanation you C&Pd is just garbage.

Ah, but you see, I did no such thing. I called for people to have some respect for a longtime FR poster who’s been very devoted to promoting and preserving this site, and did so after making it clear I disagreed with his premise.

If you’re going to accuse me of something, it helps if the accusaton is credible.

Oh, and it’s probably best if you don’t pretend you know the players, when you haven’t even been here three months yet. BobJ was here ten years before you, and has spent that time promoting conservatism.

Bobster, that's so mean spirited of you.

Aw jeez, they can’t kill J’onn, he’s the Jolly Green Buddha!

Really, I know it’s unrealistic for superheroes to basically be immortal, but...

1. Comics aren’t supposed to be realistic, it’s people flying around in spandex shooting beams out of their eyes for pity’s sake.

2. Once you’ve killed Superman it’s pretty much been done, you know? Ditto if Captain America and Tony Stark take the dirt nap.

I see a lot of disgust for McCain on this forum.

Fine.

Don't vote for him.

But for Heaven's sake, don't stay home.

One third of the United States Senate is up for re-election this year.

The entire House of Representatives is up for re-election this year.

State offices, local offices, and ballot issues abound.

Please: Show up. Vote on those matters.

Don't (literally) stay home.

Recalling that the KKK was down on Negros, Catholics and Jews, I'd say the "comparison" is rather incomplete, and probably not doable.

Folks keep forgetting that Catholics part of the deal.

I think Obamasama wants to limit wiretaps to the NRA and RNC ~ beyond that he doesn’t really care.
