I’ll take the fascist that at least knows what she’s doing. She’s also the least treasonous of the three.

Re: "Cinco de Mayo commemorates an important moment in the history of Mexico's path to freedom. On this day in 1862, a small group of Mexican troops overcame overwhelming force to win the Battle of Puebla. Today, we join together to remember the sacrifice that these Mexican patriots endured, as well as the struggles of all those around the world striving for freedom. We recognize as well the important friendship that exists between our country and Mexico, and celebrate the many contributions Mexican-Americans have made to our society, culture, security and economy."

In those days, there were Mexican patriots who loved their country enough to shed blood and give their lives in support of their nation and its 1857 Constitution.

The 1857 Mexican Constitution was a liberal constitution drafted in Mexico during the presidency of Ignacio Comonfort. It instituted Liberal policies, including: freedom of speech; freedom of conscience; freedom of the press; freedom of assembly; and the right to bear arms. It guaranteed basic civil liberties for all Mexicans; reaffirmed the abolition of slavery; eliminated debtor prison and all forms of personal servitude; secularized education; and greatly curtailed the power of the Catholic Church. It eliminated all forms of cruel and unusual punishment, including the death penalty. It eliminated all internal tariffs. It abrogated government recognition of titles of nobility, hereditary honors, and monopolies, and it abolished special court systems outside of government control

Of course, this wonderful document was done away with and the present 1917 Constitution is currently in force. And we all know what a wonderful country it has made for all the citizen of Mexico.

Mexico is a failure as a nation because the government there has made Mexico's largest export the poorest and most criminal of its citizens.

No, that is not another earthquake, sports fans, that is Benito Juárez spinning in his grave at about 96,500 RPMs.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The French intervention in Mexico, also known as the Maximilian Affair, was an invasion of Mexico by the army of the Second French Empire, supported in the beginning by the British and Spanish. It followed President Benito Juárez’s suspension of interest payments to foreign countries on 17 July 1861, which angered Spain, France and Britain. Napoleon III of France was the leader of this operation, and the three powers signed the Treaty of London on 31 October, to unite their efforts to receive payments from Mexico.

In the modern world, Britain, Spain and France could be reasonably substituted by HCA, Sharp and Kaiser Permanente.
