Those who know the Harveys often mention what a huge influence she had on the program. She was also Paul Harvey's strength and rock-solid foundation when other, much more liberal network reporters and executives would try to pressure Harvey to abandon his conservative views, which he expresses so elequently.
She was what Colonel Tom Parker was to Elvis, what Nancy was to Ronald Reagan and what Bacall was to Bogie.
When a friend of mine earned a great deal of publicity due to a certain Air Force mission in Vietnam, many reporters here treated him as a war criminal. Angel Harvey took him home for a home cooked meal.
She was is the mother of Paul Harvey, Jr., who is carring his father's pround traditions.
She was a giant in many ways, and will be missed so very much.
Tonight, Angel Harvey sleeps with her angels. FReepers might want to send a card to Paul at 435 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611
Men, simply cannot survive for very long after the love of their life has past.
It was especially moving to hear William Buckley declare on Charlie Rose not long after the death of his wife, that he was tired of life and was ready to enter the next stage.
My prayers to Paul Harvey, this can not be easy for him.
How sad. I betting he probably won’t be far behind, Lord willing.
RIP. Prayers for Mr. Harvey and the family.
Prayers up for the whole family...
Thank you for those kind words about Angel and Paul Harvey.
I tune to WGN at 12:15 PM for Paul Harvey.
Always enjoy his “the rest of the story”
I didn't want to miss "The rest of the story"...there was something special about the way he said it, as if he'd just found something precious...now I know what it was that put that lift in his voice all those years...it was his girl.
That, my FRiends, is romance.
Behind every good man...Rest in peace dear lady.
Thanks for posting this MB26. Paul Harvey was and is the way news should be done.
Rest in Peace.
