“And, you were probably reading the Burma Shave signs!”
I loved the Burma Shave signs. A peace of historical American memorabilia. Made all of our vacation trips while stuck in the car more pleasurable.

Paul Harvey has been, and continues to be, one of my all-time favorite radio personalities. He has always told the story without rancor, stated the facts as they were, and let the listener draw their own conclusions. He truly loved his “Angel”, and always made Chicago seem like a magical city to me, and though I was raised in the deep South, I always have felt a connection to him and his city. My thoughts and prayers are with the Harvey family, and I hope they find solace in knowing we care.

Paul Harvey was and is the way news should be done.No need to exaggerate. Harvey is frequently factually wrong and his liberal bias is beginning to show more and more the older he gets.

Ah, Burma Shave, the only respite besides license plates, from “are we there yet”.
PS, would it be called Myanmar shave today?

Bump, as a tribute to Paul Harvey’s passing (today).
Quote, from a bio of Harvey (Los Angeles Times Oct 8, 1978)
“The most pressing concern, as Harvey sees it, is ‘the pocketbook issue’...
almost everything else is obscured in its significance...
Wally Hickle (former secretary of the Interior) was saying the other day
that he thinks the next revolution in this country, will be when those
who work refuse to support those who don’t.”
(Talk about prophetic!)

And this, as Paul Harvey always put it, “is the rest of the story”.
Sleep well, Mr. & Mrs. Harvey, and thank you.
