By her husband’s logic, Michelle Obama must be a heavily armed xenophobic religious zealot, because boy is she bitter. This C-SPAN video of a speech delivered by Mrs. Obama in North Carolina last Friday is characteristic of her peculiar recent performances on the stump. It is an hour-long talk to supporters who just want something to cheer about, and who get some opportunities at the outset, but then find themselves treated to a profoundly and relentlessly negative vision of American life.

I don’t know why, but Michelle Obama irks me like no one else on the national scene right now. Maybe it’s because she CHOSE to go to one of the most expensive universities in the country, and then complained about having student loans. WHO THE H*LL DID SHE THINK WAS GOING TO PAY OFF THOSE LOANS???
I think she’s been reading Robert D. Putnam’s “Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community.”
It won’t be once Obama gets through with it.

If one were to collate the reverend’s views on what his congregation should think of the United States, and, further, his writs against Americans as “selfish, self-centered egotists who are arrogant and ignorant” with Michelle Obama’s own astounding statements that hitherto she had no pride in the United States, and considered America “just downright mean,” and Americans “guided by fear” and (in the words of the New Yorker profiler) who summed up her views as ‘we’re a nation of cynics, sloths, and complacents’ the echoes are downright eerie.

What happens in that nation is that people do become isolated, they do live in a level of division, because see when you’re that busy struggling all the time, which most people that you know and I know are, see you don’t have time to get to know your neighbors, you don’t have time to reach out and have conversations to share stories, in fact you feel very alone in your struggle because you feel somehow it must be your fault that you’re struggling that hard, everybody else must be doing ok, I must be doing something wrong, so you hide…What happens in that kind of nation is that people are afraid. Because when your world’s not right no matter how hard you work, then you become afraid of everyone and everything, because you don’t know whose fault it is, why you can’t get a handle on life, why you can’t secure a better future for your kids.”

I like Jeremiads, but from Scripture or someone who is a believer in Christ—not from some passive-aggressive whining woman with a raging black inferiority complex (self-imposed, to boot!).
Whatever the Obamas have gotten at that “church”, it is not even remotely related to Biblical Christianity, which says “Forgive those who have trespassed against you” and—GASP!!!—”Slaves, obey your earthly masters...”, among many other pride-shattering things.
There is nothing original or unique about these people, they are like all the other ambitious money-grubbers who prey on others’sinful pride and greed.

Of course not. Corporate America has ruined dining. The food is bad for you and it’s designed to keep people oppressed. How can you want to work when you are obese?

$360k?! I had no idea it was THAT much. I knew it was six figures but damn...
Here’s a woman who lives a very privileged life (and has done little or nothing to earn her lofty status). She has a cushy BS job as a “diversh*tty coordinator”, at which she makes almost five times as much as I do. She attended a prestigious university (where she responded with hostility to white people’s attempts to welcome her) and lives in a rich fancy neighborhood. There’s a good chance that she will be the next First Lady of the United States. She is treated with fawning adoration by every mainstream media outlet.
And yet, she’s still bitter, still angry, and still considers herself a victim.

I have secured the future for my kids - the only one that matters. And in that they will find joy even in the tough times. Too bad Rev. Wright doesn’t preach that better future.
(and has done little or nothing to earn her lofty status).
And there is the problem. When you don’t earn it, you have no pride in yourself and you have no joy in your accomplishments.
